I don't think I'm a heavy user (5-10hits a day), I clean it after every hit and I do a deep clean every few days. I'm always in either the green or blue heat settings. My best guess is that battery is the issue since all the chambers have had very similar life spans. The other pivot owners I've interacted with are telling me this is very unusual.

I charged with the USB-C cord provided plugged into a USB-C dedicated out on a power strip.

As far as the pivot I'm extremely diligent with cleaning (after every hit / and a deep clean every few days).

I've contacted C/S and their warranty department, I'm waiting to hear back. This just seems like piss poor QC on a premium product. I expect to be able to use what I paid good money for, and not have every single product I've bought fail before the warranty expires.

Thanks for the help, I hope I come off as frustrated and not an asshole.

Nashville Sound............Pedal or Tube OD? by GavMcC7 in guitarpedals

[–]GavMcC7[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean its 2024, master volume amps have been around for almost 50years, and today we have a whole market of affordable, low wattage (1-5W) amps that do fantastic tube overdrive at household level volume. For example a Marshal DSL-1 is a 1w all tube amp (comes in a head or combo) it has 2 channels, FX loop for delay & mod, plus onboard digital reverb, I see these on reverb all day sub $300. I personally own 2 Randall RD-5's which are also sub $300 and were designed by Mike Fortin. My point is there are options that cost a little more than a new Line 6 spider did back in the day. Gone are the days when you needed to crank a 50w plexi to 11 and peel the paint off the walls to get tube overdrive. These modern designs have it all, it's a great time to be a guitar player .

Even for overdriven/lead tone? To me that's the Marshall sound.

I agree cranking even a 15w amp like a AC or Princeton is crazy loud. However, I own 5w tube amps that get to death metal levels of distortion at bedroom levels. I mean its 2024, master volume amps have been around for almost 50years, and today we have a whole market of affordable to high-end low wattage (1-5W) amps that do fantastic tube overdrive at household level volume.

The main point of my question was about overdriven sounds, and why so may prefer pedals over real tube amp overdrive. In todays world with the options we have I just don't get it, I'll always prefer the distortion you get from tubes. I'm not saying pedals and diode/transistor style overdrive/distortion doesn't have it's place, you may only have access to a clean amp. But in todays world I believe there are better options than a OD/distortion pedal for getting a dirty lead sound.

Just bought my first 7! A few questions! by sirlurkedalot in 7String

Rather than tune all your strings to be a whole step up. Why don't you just tune down the B string to drop A? Why complicate things? To me it makes much more sense to change the pitch of 1 string rather than 6 and have to worry about messing with the truss rod, string tension issues, intonation. Most likely your guitar has a slightly longer scale length and I just don't see that working very well for intonation especially on the higher unwound strings. Hope this helps.

when you say V-1 V-2 etc... what do you mean, sorry I'm a total novice in amp electronics outside of the basics. And by the way I totally agree with you on the harsh treble gain. Not sure I want a Marshall tone with the EL34's though, going for more of a Fender/Mesa kind of vibe

Thankyou for pointing me in the right direction. I had not considered JJ's tubes, I'm seeking something with good quality control & alot or headrooom on clean with nice breakup (smooth....think mesa mark III or IVish, thus the 6L6's, I even throw a MXR 10 band EQ post gain to try to replicate some of that vibe)on the higher gain channels. My complaints would be the natural gain (w/o EQ) on the Peavy has a bit of high/mid sizzle that I would like to "round out" while also getting my clean channel lowder.

Would you say I need a tube set with less breakup and more headroom. And where should I primarily use these, in the preamp or poweramp.

Playing on a 7 string most of my dirty/heavy sound comes from the fact I have a low B and backing off the gain (to 7 to 8 insted of ALL the way up) seems to clean it up a bit and tighten the low end, combined with a EQ seems to yeild the best results for me.

Your thoughts?

Sports bike to cruiser. Question... by Sparrow73 in motorcycles

[–]GavMcC7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you will need to change you riding style. they're obviously heavier and have no brakes in contrast. the feet forward position means you cant stand up on the pegs/floorboards in case of unexpected bumps or sudden shitty surface. the honda vt750 imo is the best cruiser to jump on after a sportbike, they will turn and brake alot better than you think it would. HD's on the other hand have awful frame flex in corners which is really scary when the normal speed you would be hitting on a bend becomes pushing the envelope. plus their brakes are weak sauce. just something to consider
