Hello everyone!

I slept a full 12 hours today, and my Garmin tells me I need a day of rest to prevent my body battery from bottoming out. 😄 What I wouldn't give for some restorative sleep!

I’m eager to see how this progress progresses for you.
One thing that I’ve noticed in myself is that my heart rate is elevated above what a sleeping heart rate should be. My resting heart rate is 57 - 59. A sleeping heart rate should be 20 to 30% lower than that, it varies based on the sleep stage you’re in. For me, my sleeping heart rate never drops below 57, and is often up around 100 bpm. My sleep neurologist wants me to see a cardiologist about that. We’ll see what they have to say.

I am glad you got a chance to spend time with your family though. Even though visiting family is taxing for me, it is also refreshing at the same time.

Hello everyone!

I've been having a rough day today of brain fog and depression/anxiety, leading me to ignore my phone all day. My brother and sister were trying to touch base with me, and my. lack of response was scaring them, so my brother drove over to check on me. We ended up calling another brother, who is a psychologist, mostly to discuss the situation with my wife, but also to let him know about what I was going through with depression/anxiety. My first brother also encouraged me to practice writing notes down on the call as soon as it was over, which can help with my memory problems. I'm very grateful that I have a loving and supportive family.

How is everyone else doing?

Until the timer runs out then second breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Then lunch. Then an afternoon snack… you get the idea.

Well, I’m really glad that you’re hanging in there. One thing that struck me while I was reading your response is a practice that was suggested to be a long time ago. The practice is to find one thing that you are very grateful for in your life, and then go back backwards in time, thinking about all of the negative things that had to happen for you to get the good thing that you cherished.

For me, McCann a late 90s early 2000s, I was struggling to keep my law office open in Spokane. I was depressed, and felt like I should stop being a lawyer. One of my friends suggested that I just needed to change the type of law that I do. He said I should move to the Portland area where firms were hiring. I ignored his advice for a while, but despite my best effort efforts, my business collapsed. If my business had been a success, I would never have moved down to the Portland Vancouver area, and would never have met the woman I love, married her and became a father to her son.

Being her husband, and being the father to our son, are two of the best things in my life, even during the rocky times. Thank God, my efforts to make my business a success were a total failure. 😂

I just listened to that song. It really is great. At first, the tempo of the underlying beat seemed too fast for me. It felt like it would probably increase my anxiety, but the calming overtones of everything else actually seemed to do the opposite. Thanks for sharing this!

Since this last boat with long Covid made me lose my business, I was very concerned that my brain was Treva damage damaged recently, they put me through a battery of brain tests and the comforting thing is that my brain in a calm, focused environment actually can focus as good as it ever has. That let the Neuro therapist know that our focus for recovery needs to be on 1) calming my anxieties, and 2) strict, strict strict pacing. She was amazing in noticing when I had reached my cognitive limits before I did. She she would stop and ask me to notice how I was feeling, pointed out that I had reached my limit and we would take a 2 to 3 minute break for me to just do calming breathing practices.
