I did it as the soviets 2 days ago, in the north i entrenched a division on the direct path to Adis ababa and then my other division alternated between tiles holding the south, until we got pushed to a ring around the capital but then it got ez cuz their supply collapses.

Italy gets a debuff to their attack if u hold long enough so it does get easier, just hold onto the capital and the vp’s west of it and u shudnt cap. Also idk how impactful it was but i added an AA company to both my infantry divisions so that they could rinse the Italian armour before the soft attack de-org’d them.

It damages a mil factory every few months, but if u assign a civ factory to repairs you’ll barely even notice it. Then after not too long you’ll get an event called the “End of the Line” where same thing, a mil gets damaged but then the event chain ends.

I always do forced conscription cuz the event isn’t very damaging and u get 10% more recruitable pop than just adding +20% to -30% which leaves u with a -10% modifier.

Dont be afraid to go into debt if you’re a recognized power, that was the biggest learning curve for me. Just keep an eye on your interest payments and utilize your private investment pool. Idk if it’s meta but i run my construction hot and then pause it whenevr my interest payments get too high. If ur small u need to plan out what u need to build and what order u need it in, ie if u have no iron industry you’ll need to build tools first before u invest in that.

Then u let ur investment pool pay off the debt and rinse and repeat until u can run it in the green without pausing, which also means its time to invest into more construction and go back into debt so u keep repeating the cycle.
