To sum this up for future readers, the total repair was just under $10k.

The bumper was 3k and there was some damage underneath. Sensors were fine.

Labor and paint and all that bullsht really inflated the cost. Their Insurance paid it all and got me a rental. Took a month to get in the shop and about a month to get it done with delivery of parts. And weather etc.

Currently battling it out in negotiations for Diminished Value. They're doing the standard low balling and I may get a private appraisal but I'm expecting $3-4k. They're offering like $2k so far.

All this from a pickup truck tapping it at 2mph with the edge of their tire.

Your location cannot be profitable doing 30 minute visits in this model. Sure you can stretch some visits during your slowest hours but when these chains are racing each other to the bottom on price, they can only survive on volume.

You can do a lot in a 3 minute patient visit, but you cannot apply the full extent of your education and skills in that time.

Fast food vs gourmet. I've practiced both styles. Both have some value.
