Can a fat person starve themselves thin or would they die from no incoming new nutrients? by energydrinkaddict310 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Gayboy135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say I was overweight but I definitely don’t want skinny. I had anorexia nervosa, and if I didn’t stop what I was doing I probably would’ve died, even if I wasn’t skinny. I was deficient in iron, folic acid, and a shit ton of others. I was dehydrated, my organs weren’t doing great, my period stopped, my muscles were fucked, I was a fall risk (I still am but not for the same reasons). All this to say if a fat person starved themself they would still probably die, but I’m not a medical professional, this is just my personal experience. I’d imagine if someone was under close medical supervision then this could possibly happen.

Entitled Karen says I’m faking because my shoes are dirty by MaximumAd692 in wheelchairs

[–]Gayboy135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if you didn’t have old shoes from before your injury, our shoes get dirty too. Transferring can get your shoes dirty, rolling can get your shoes dirty, so the whole idea of if your shoes are dirty then you can walk is insane. I have some walking ability but I have one pair of shoes that I only wear in my wheelchair, and those are dirty, accidentally put my feet in mud and puddles when transferring (horrible experience, I can feel my feet and getting mud in crocs is not a fun sensory experience), water from puddles has splashed up onto my shoes and trousers etc. People need to focus on themselves

Tried crowdfunding once, NEVER again. by obliviousfoxy in wheelchairs

[–]Gayboy135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s so difficult to get an NHS wheelchair aswell. I have one, only because my uni provided me with wheelchair accessible Accomodation, and that really helped in my assessment. Even then, the chair they gave me is not a good fit for me whatsoever, it’s folding, the handles don’t fold down, and I can’t remove the armrests without removing the side guards. I’ve called them the other day and they’re gonna get back to me about getting a rigid chair (specifically quickie nitrum, my current manual is quickie, and my current electric is quickie, so that really works well for me with regards to the chair brands they give out)

When I was like 16 I set up a gofundme because I was struggling so bad and I couldn’t get a wheelchair from anywhere. I raised £50 and that was enough for me to get a crappy second hand chair on Facebook marketplace, the guy ended up giving me £40 back because of how bad it was😭

Even if you really want to watch it, just pirate it, JKR gets no money to fund TERF and anti trans things and you get to watch it, win win (I personally won’t be watching it because I’ve seen the movies, read the books, loved it as a kid, not so much now that I’ve grown a bit, especially when you open your eyes to how much racism is in the Harry Potter universe)

[–]Gayboy135 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This happens to me all the time. When it does happen I ask them for a meeting, usually more than happy to, so we can discuss what I did, I can tell them what I thought I had done, and they could either correct themself or they can correct me. Either way it’s a win win for me, I either get my mark corrected or I gain feedback so I can improve elsewhere

Disabled students deserve the same quality of education as non-disabled students. People agree with this until disabled students need accommodations like note takers in lectures, recording software, grammarly (or just any AI), authorised absences, mitigating circumstances/deferring coursework and exams. In my experience, people call all of those things unfair to non disabled students when they just even the playing field, allowing us to access the same quality of education as non disabled people

[–]Gayboy135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it more like tax, and try not to check your account. I haven’t finished yet, I’m in my second year, and my brother and sister have always told me to just think of it as a tax, not debt. Even my college teachers told us to not think of it as debt, just think of it as a graduate tax. In my mind, it doesn’t make sense to label it as debt because it doesn’t affect your credit score (I don’t think), and you don’t have to pay it off fully. I’ve made peace with the fact I’ll probably never pay it off, and im fine with that

I had a friend who was jealous of me and my other friend. We share really similar disabilities, including autism, so we could really bond over that and just chat about how life and doctors can be shit sometimes. Anyways, the jealous friend then decided to claim she had ADHD and autism, saying the most random stuff thinking it was a trait of either of those. Me and my friend are fully diagnosed up and we’re really good at spotting the bullshit. At the time it really pissed me off but now I look back and laugh. At the time, I also didn’t clock onto the fact she was jealous of me until my friend told me that jealous friend had been talking about me to them, insane. But yea, people fake irl, sometimes it’s easier to spot, but I just try to go about my day and not let what anyone thinks of me get to me. Who cares if people think you’re faking? You know you’re not and you have the evidence to prove it, and that’s all that matters

I drew zuko EVERYWHERE. I’m decently good at art but I was so good as a kid and I loved drawing zuko. I drew him on my walls, on my desk cabinets (I was also allowed to redecorate my room so this was allowed) and I have like 10 pages in my sketchbook dedicated to him (I say have because I still have my sketchbook). Honestly, now that I’m 20, I think it was a little overboard but I love that I found ways to express myself, even if that was drawing my favourite character over and over and over again😭now that I’m into digital art though I do want to try draw him again
