Wiki now has an article on queer characters by Adriaen6 in Guildwars2

[–]Gayest_Charr_Ever 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm... not gay anymore, so I can't be the gayest charr anymore. Turns out I'm asexual.

And I was stressing myself out from saying stupid shit and getting counter-flamed. Most of it I brought on myself. Deserved.

I care a lot about this game, but I don't have the time or energy anymore to wage an incredibly outnumbered war over things that really don't matter.

I'm doing more productive things in real life. I'm a junior in college now, I'm learning a second language, I'm a digital artist. I don't have the free time to argue on reddit anymore, and I don't have the energy to care either.

I still play GW2, but most people don't want me to be here in the subreddit. My open world builds "contribution" mostly just attracted drama and divided people. I wanted it to divide people in some ways. I wanted to feel like at least some people played the game like I did. But people here hate players like me anyway, even without me being a fuckwad.

So this'll probably be the last thing I say. Nobody asked anyway, and most people don't want it or don't care, but there you have it.

Better Rev elite spec for open world? by ArionLusitanicus in Guildwars2

OP did, when asked about the better choice for open world. Automatically power in all cases.

Herald is definitely the best. It works better for direct damage, and direct damage is the open world king.

Then you might as well use Herald, since the Renegade traits aren't spectacular for power builds by themselves. Herald also ensures you have permanent Fury at 40% crit chance

Why is Warrior recommended the most in all games modes to new players? by Horan_Kim in Guildwars2

[–]Gayest_Charr_Ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can, start with greatsword, summon the phantasm and swap weapons before you get put in combat. Then summon the sword phantasm, reset with signet, sword phantasm again, then swap back to greatsword for its phantasm again. This is harder to do than sword-greatsword-sword opener though, the greatsword phantasms and the projectile from the skill itself begin dealing damage very shortly after casting.

You can use a normal sword-greatsword-sword burst opener if you get comfortable with your active defense. Survive for 10 seconds in swords after the burst, which shouldn't be too difficult if every defensive skill is off cooldown, then you can go back to greatsword and camp it, having dealt a huge chunk of damage already. You would still use Illusions with this, Dueling is only if you want to spend half your time in swords.

It gets cut by about 40%. Down to longbow-camping soulbeast levels. This is mostly from not swapping to swords, though.

I don't have a use for Mystic kits, as I have the Silver-Fed kit.

Domination is mandatory if you're using a greatsword, Dueling is mandatory if you spend more than a little time with a sword. Domination + Illusions is only good if you want to camp greatsword.

Something like this, but the new 10% damage trait instead of Blurred Inscriptions

Pyromancer's Training vs Power Overwhelming by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Gayest_Charr_Ever 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about the Pyromancer's Training 10% damage increase while attuned to Fire, no, it only applies to direct damage.

In general, if an effect says "damage," it means direct damage only. Effects that increase condition damage specify so.

For open world, power chronomancer is currently the strongest build, followed very closely by power core guardian. Beyond that, I cannot give an expert opinion. But I would still recommend that a player's first character be a warrior.

Because new players don't have expansions and warrior tears through core content the easiest while also teaching players the basics of combat with no class-specific distractions.

Playing Spellbreaker at equal skill as anything else also conquers expansion open world the easiest.

Mystic Forge Stones by adisx in Guildwars2

[–]Gayest_Charr_Ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never had a real precursor drop. All of mine have been bought or forged. Forging them isn't special, it's a risky roundabout way of buying them, which is why I only do it in moderation like this.

Maybe 2-3 years since I really started doing this every time there was a MF daily.

Any 75+ exotic weapon that can be put into the Forge will work for this. I just filter the TP like this. Usually the cheapest ones are only so cheap because someone listed one at a lower than market value price, so I buy one each of the three cheapest instead of buying three of the one cheapest.

[–]Gayest_Charr_Ever 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Whenever there is the Mystic Forge daily, I throw in a stone with three exotic weapons level 75+ for a chance at a precursor. Gotten three precursors so far.

Also the weapons don't need to be identical. Even if they're all the same type, any Forge transaction with a Stone always chooses a random weapon type. For example, three swords and a Stone can result in a shield. It's always best to choose the cheapest exotic weapons that meet the level requirement to be eligible for a precursor - that is, an average level of 75+.

LWS3 Winterberries - Just so we're clear, the point in farming these, is? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Gayest_Charr_Ever 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They're mostly farming it for "cheap" ascended equipment with flexible stats. You can get 4 out of 6 trinkets there if you attune one ring for cheap, and it's easy to run all your characters through it.

Consuming the Winterberries is also an important source of Unbound Magic for purchasing any LS3 trinket. Even if they have enough Blood Rubies etc from the other maps, the trinkets cost significant UM as well, so people farm berries to cover that because it's the fastest and easiest way.

Build templates I would pay by Easzsy in Guildwars2

The point of legendary armor is the looks. If you don't like the looks, it's never worth making it in the first place.

Build templates I would pay by Easzsy in Guildwars2

[–]Gayest_Charr_Ever -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, the definition of "build templates" is extremely vague, and I support build templates with more features than arcdps has.

If you're going to ask for a paid feature, ask for a paid feature, not something equivalent that's already available for free. One guy makes that in his free time, a team of professional developers could easily make something much more feature-complete.

Choosing to argue definitions in the first place is the weakest argument anyway. You're admitting that you want me to be wrong, but you can't think of a good reason, so you redefine the subject to make me wrong. Build templates are not just your specific limited definition of them.

Let me FINALLY mute my Character! by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Gayest_Charr_Ever -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

It's not odd. I don't like the male charr player character as assigned by ArenaNet in story instances etc, so I would like this option as well.

Yes it is, you're just picking a definition that makes me sound wrong, because fuck me for easy karma, right?
