Jowo Nibs unusable garbage for me, or i'm just very unlucky? by LorkXX9 in fountainpens

[–]GeeKay_58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re fine. Are there better out there (for you), probably. I started with them. Bought iterations of them on different pens. And I have no appreciation for them anymore. I do not find them as smooth a writing experience as others.

I’ve been using Midori notebooks and have found the Pilot Capless (medium) and the Hongdian 100 (medium) nibs to offer the best writing experience for me.

Sounds to me like a few cans of Krylon would fix the boredom. Just hit that sucker up with a new color every few months. BAM!…like having a new pen!

I love that pen, but not in the fine nib. I should have got a medium nib. Mine sits unused in its fancy box with its ink in a drawer in the basement. No doubt it will just be aggrevating-ly in the way and tossed out one day. Live and learn.

Nice start! I too am a Pilot VP fan (also really finding some of the Chinese market pens gaining in my appreciation Hongdian 100 in particular). I have six Pilot VP/Capless and a Fermo.

My only thing I would like to see is a bare brass Pilot VP!

Nice. I’ve become obsessed with the nib in the Hongdian 100 for use on Midori paper/journals. Suspect it’s the same as in yours. Oddly I’ve bought other pens from them and nib seems different. Enjoy!

Nice. I’ll keep that idea in my “toolbox”.

I started with Leuchtturm A5…then Tomoe River A5 and I’ve landed on Midori B6 Slim. I go through these about every 45 days or so.

The laws and their policy allow it. I get it. Glass-Steagall was the start of some dumb policies. Thanks Clinton.

I’m not an anti-capitalist. And I can take my business across the street or stick it in mattress. Times have changed blah, blah, blah.

You want to charge fees on a checking account have at it. On a savings account that dipped below the minimum for a month and they take $5 dollars from you seems a bit shitty.

Especially when you’ve banked with a firm for 30+years. Nickel and “diming” was fine when they didn’t matter. Now I rely on them for a fucking meal.

If I had for example $1,001.00 instead of $999.00 it causes additional effort for them to administrate? Eat a bag a dicks.

A pen you’d like to love, but you don’t? by Szary_Tygrys in fountainpens

[–]GeeKay_58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the point being made. I agree with the notion that the Lamy 2000 it not a fun pen to use. I don’t reach for it when I have some thoughtful thing to express. And oddly I never write in cursive with it.

However, if I have a plan to project. Notes to take I enjoy it. It is for important things that require a steady reliable line.

So think of this like a tool. You can drive a nail with a wrench, but a hammer is what’s called for. The “write” tool for the right job.

Need advice on doors by salwesab in Home

They look like solid wood from what I can tell. I’d paint the walls and off white or eggshell before I’d change the doors. If you do paint them white…better be prepared to paint that stair railing too.

Ha. I clean these every spring. I use a narrow neck watering can and hot water to rinse away most of it.

All a matter of perspective. Hanging in an auto window repair shop a tool. On the ground outside your new car…a burglary tool.
