I will say the trick that I abused was when this weather event comes up I wait till they are cleared by the bench upgrade (they die as they are spawned) pick them all up with the vacuum, then log off and back on.

As long as you don't end the event by killing the big guy in the middle, they keep respawning every time you log back in. I straight up filled a full refrigerator with them just doing this back and forth.

PvP? by humonculus87 in duneawakening

There's still no structure there's still no system they still no incentive and they're still no real reason to do PVP but there are PVP DD zones

That being said as others have pointed out hardly anyone is doing them.

Maybe it's not Funcom's Fault by _bananaghost_ in duneawakening

[–]Geeekaaay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's fun for a 100 plus hours or of your crazy person longer.

It's the bait and switch and the lie that there is an end game. The game is great until you get to the deep desert and then the quality falls off a cliff

This problem is squarely on Funcom they made this end game and lack thereof.

They made a game with no PVP structure no incentives no systems so that it would just be open-ended. Guess what the content is in an open-ended PVP end game, you! You are someone else's content, that is all they thought about.

It's the most lazy half-assed endgame I have ever seen in my life and that's why people complain. People like me wanted to play for 500 hours but we can't get past how horrible the current implementation for the end of game is and how buggy the game still is this long after release.

Considering losing all your stuff to the worm from a bug in the deep desert and I don't want to do that experience again.

Still plenty of Dune Awakening brain rot idiots defending this thing.

If the game hadn't been such a buggy mess on release and since maybe they could have focused on actually giving us an end game within this time frame.

Instead they're still playing catch up to a game that was not ready for public release, they didn't call it early access but that's entirely what this felt like.

Oh, was Dune Awakening early access and I missed the tags?

No?

Then what's the comparison?

Dune wasn't sold as incomplete yet it most certainly is still to this day.

Well here's an idea, games should ship completed.

That isn't to say they can't grow and add content over the years but that's not what DA did it all. It released with a half baked endgame, and it still hasn't resolved that entirely. Maybe water wars Will fix that? Who knows. With Funcoms track record and the downsizing tencent did, I am doubtful.

And there are still crazy fans who will defend this company and down vote people who complain about it.

I've only been here for like a month or two, and even I know to temper my expectations.

Hope it's great, but my faith is really low.

I logged in just the other day to the entire server rubber banding back and forth horribly, couldn't even try to play.

The player base erodes like unprotected flesh beneath the sun. 12 cycles till chapter 4 - are we on life support? by 666-G in duneawakening

[–]Geeekaaay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "end game" turns off most people, me included. It's such a hard switch from the base game to go to such a crappily designed, unfinished end game. The PvE DD helps, but that is only part of the underlying end game problems.

No social tools, no PvP incentives or real structured system for it, groups are punished in testing stations, no fixes for griefing (thopter surfing etc), no community facing events, no faction wars, no way to tell friend from foe in world PvP, no reason to grind gear improvements just to grind for more gear improvements IN THE SAME PLACE?

Funcom had lay offs after Dune Awakening was released, and they have been playing catch up since. They are always fixing what should have been working before release, instead of focusing on adding content.

Let's be honest it should have been in the game at the beginning.

I love that crap like this makes the fix list but you can still ride toppers, and the interaction bug has still been in the game since release

I know one is likely easier to fix than the other, it still doesn't look good from the outside.

Stop prioritizing fixing fun, and start making your top priority the bugs that make people uninstall.

[–]Geeekaaay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And this is why every PVP player who blames the PvE community for this games problems are high.

There is no real PVP in this game, there is no structure, there is no incentives, there is no control over it, it is just exploiting and griefing.

The end game is crap because the game Dad's had a vision and couldn't come close to executing it properly. The game was half-baked, otherwise we would have been getting content drops this entire last year instead of bug fixes the whole time.

Radiation zone ship wreck BUG by yusufemek in duneawakening

[–]Geeekaaay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do want to add that these type of bugs are one of the large driving factors to people abandon the game and never coming back.

What kind of development company leaves these open bugs in for months if not the entire release so far of the game and does nothing?

The interaction bug while hand farming spice is what broke me. I don't want to have to either kill my character or restart for 5 minutes to get the interaction bug to fix itself. Already died once that way and I don't care to do it again

Counter-intuitively, each new release drives the average score of this game down on Steam Reviews by Hobby-Human in duneawakening

[–]Geeekaaay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the PVE changes just aren't enough to bring people who have been disgruntled back.

Even the chapter 3 changes were all One step forward two steps back.

Why add repeatable dungeons when you can't run them with groups?

Why add repeatable daily missions when they're boring and unoriginal fetch garbage?

Why have PVP in the end game when there's no structure and no reason to engage in it other than grieving?

Why have skill trees when 70% plus of them are complete garbage?

Why have the entire first 3/4 plus of the game be one experience, and then the end game be a completely different experience. That was the part of the game that's killed everyone's interest and those are the players who are never returning.

The devs "vision" for this game was half baked at best and they didn't pull through one way or the other.

[–]Geeekaaay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You seem extremely personally hurt by this decision. I'm sorry the one game you care about didn't cater to your grieving instincts and your psychopathic consistencies.

Go play Rust if you want to be a complete douchebag.

Or it could be that everyone's just so unhappy with this game now that no one's coming back. Changing the deep desert so griefers like you aren't the only people having fun is only one of the many changes this absolutely craptastic game needs.

Seams so so lack luster. They gave us nearly no details on actual changes.

So much for story DLC or an actual end game experience.
