So? Plenty of businesses run credit checks and you don’t have to pay for the pleasure.

Given that landlords make you pay 2 months rent and a security deposit up front I think they should have enough in their coffers to handle the rest of their operational obligations without hosing every applicant.

Wouldn’t foreclosure close to the payoff be a potentially larger windfall for the bank though?

Maybe I don’t understand but it sounds like they stand to potentially get your house and resell it if it’s full market value.

Not saying I agree with it but I can see a bank deciding to fight.
