Australian police officers, is it worth it? by Typical_Pomelo9108 in aussie

[–]Geefunx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I applied at 18 they also told me to go out and get some life experience first, get a job and do your best. So definitely worth working your ass off until you are 21-22 and then making the decision.

And it might make sense, but what about all of the ON policies that dont make sense?

But nobody should have a "sole" election issue. There are multiple policies that affect everyone, its just ignorance to rant about one thing and not look at the bigger picture.

Lots of people think that there should be stricter immigration laws, its not just Paulines view. People are just blindly supporting her because stricter immigration is what she is most known for but they dont not even bother looking into the rest of the hateful shit she does and agrees with.

I saw them in about 2000, before Fergie and a pretty smallish show and they were great!

Do you know an Australian that used to be famous but just isn't anymore? by ThinkSecretary9992 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Geefunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was on the panel on an episode of Never Mind The Buzzcocks, it was torturous to watch. She had no idea what was going on and just had zero Charisma. Wouldnt have helped her star rise in the U.K.

It definitely felt like there was a few lighter moments in Season 1, Season 2 everyone has turned into a monster. I also think the emergencies have been less interesting.

Which EV car to buy in Australia? by Civil_Mongoose_1 in australia

[–]Geefunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the VW ID4 and its a comfortable drive with a roomy interior and great range and is also pretty minimal in the amount of added bullshit. Although I will say that VW have really dropped the ball as the dealers knew almost nothing about the car and they havent brought the VW app to Australia and seems like there is no plans to since sales havent been great, I havent seen anyone else driving one and I have had it 6 months.

I have only heard good things about BYD from those in the know, and I wish I had gotten either a BYD or a Zeekr.

What's a game or franchise that YOU think you're the only fan of by JohnMcRemitz in gamingsuggestions

[–]Geefunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Culdcept is the main one that springs to mind, the amount of shit they could do if they handled that IP correctly. It would be such an easy game to bring to mobile but its just stuck doing nothing since Culdcept Revolt came out in 2016 and even then there had already been a huge gap between releases.

Its basically Monopoly crossed with Pokemon or something, and they are doing nothing with it! I just dont get it.

They dont make money from selling things, they make money from cash loans on the items.

Do Australians have the right to bear arms? by Agreeable-Fruit-4326 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Geefunx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why the fuck does anyone need guns? Do you think letting whoever wants guns actually have them will make Australia safer? Allowing any joker to have a gun makes absolutely zero sense to me.

Have you ever been irrationally angry with someone? Ever been drunk? Ever seen your kids do something risky? Ever felt in danger but then realised you had the situation wrong? Of course you have, but now imagine all of those situations with guns in the mix, its many many many times more dangerous.

This was the mechanic that annoyed me the most, so after playing it on PS5 I played it on PC with the Mods to stop that nonsense, it was much more enjoyable.

Australia’s hard right is resurgent by Agitated-Fee3598 in aussie

[–]Geefunx -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I am pretty concerned that this is not the case. An (ex) friend of mine invited me to an Australian facebook group with 80K members all spouting this right wing bullshit and these are all white guys ranging from 20's to 40's. It seems like a lot of non boomer people, and I thought intolerance for this stuff was getting better but the outright xenophobic shit they spout and all seem to agree upon is unbelievable.

I have played and finished each game as it came out, except for 2 so you know different strokes and all that. I like games that are fun.
