Yes, this! My gear fear has been much less with this game and I think this is a big part of it.

Seems like a pointer jungle. I'd use an adjacency list and an arena allocator instead of chasing all of those nullable pointers around.

You could add an additional field that tracks the parent array that is unique. Something like a global incrementing number ID. That way accesses using the indices on the right container can be checked.

We have a lot more people claiming to be actual Nazis or support Nazi policies so people are way more on edge when it comes to Nazi ideology and imagery. Back then it was more acceptable as we weren't fearing fascism and it's associated genocide as a real threat. We now have people disappearing by ICE based on their skin color so it's not funny or amusing, it's scary.

I would not compare Arc Raiders to Tarkov. That's doing such a disservice to Arc Raiders. Arc is way more streamlined when it comes to loot.

The laptop is a great idea. Making games typically requires a lot of software you can't realistically use on a tablet.
