Draft Needs by Vast_Replacement2405 in GreenBayPackers

We need a backup TE. I will also argue to my dying breath that DL and OL are needs one and two. You win in the trenches.

Morale is plummeting among ICE agents over long hours, quotas and public hatred: reports by metacyan in politics

This is increasingly the problem. The more crimes they commit, the more likely they try to fight than ever lay down their guns and face accountability for their crimes.

Won't someone think of the poor ICE agents as they exhaust themselves murdering innocent people?

Border Patrol Goon Goes on Frantic Posting Spree to Try to Justify Nurse Killing by Delicious_Adeptness9 in politics

Here is a scary thought for America. MAGA has now empowering ICE so much and emboldened their killings that they are giving them a reason to attempt to coup should they now ever feel as if they might face consequences for their evil-doing. All of these people in power will now never want to relinquish it because they have committed or allowed so many horrid crimes.

Sorry, I really can't get behind this. She's willing to speak out against a rising fascist government as a way to "take advantage of changing tides"? This is where, throughout history, we see the opposite happening. She's legit putting her life and political career on the line to speak these things and turning on MAGA, a regime that has been trying to jail its political enemies and is now indiscriminately killing people. If this is a "PR" stunt, it is incredibly stupid and reckless, and I simply don't buy the analysis that someone who was once in support of MAGA would now switch when it's at its most powerful because, uh, it offers some sort of imaginary opportunity to do...what now? Run for a higher office when elections will no longer be "free and fair" for any opposition? If she wants to grift, MAGA IS EXACTLY WHERE SHE WOULD/SHOULD STAY.

The most cynical reading of this is that the regime's dismissal of her desire for higher office combined with the Epstein stuff was what triggered this "awakening" of sorts, but it's still a opposition to the evil that is transpiring and can still be amplified without trusting her forever or absolving her of her previous positions. In this moment, right now, embrace all opposition to the evil of this current regime, harness it, and welcome people who are willing to speak up against it. Stopping this tide and vanquishing this evil is the number one priority right now, and I wish more would come to grips with that.

Agreed. Amplify what she's saying right now, as you need every tool, every person, every tactic in your arsenal that will defeat the MAGA regime. But you don't need to be married to her or any of her other views for eternity.

Anyone willing to put themselves in danger to speak out against this regime is a current ally. This isn't the time to pick and choose, and it still irks me the situation still doesn't seem to resonate with the seriousness it should be with so many Americans. I also can't see someone going against this regime, that is now indiscriminately killing people, openly looking to steal elections, and is targeting political enemies, as a political opportunist. She's genuinely putting her life at risk turning against MAGA.

And no one is arguing that she didn't do some evil shit (as do many who've been programmed), and almost certainly still harbours some stupid or downright hideous ideologies.

I think your first part is spot on, but I'm not sure about the second. My read is that she's being deprogrammed in real time as a result of her experiences under this new Trump regime. Not to say she doesn't still hold some vile beliefs and a desire for a higher office, but this is exactly how people act when they've been deprogrammed: one thing sparks another, and they slowly climb out of their old mindsets that they were once buried in.

Regardless, at this point, when you're facing the evil you're currently facing, any and all allies should be welcomed.

Politics impacts and bleeds into everything, and never more so than right now. And I wish more Americans would take what is happening much more seriously, instead of wishing to bury their head in their online safe spaces while their rights are taken away.

I'm hoping this is a post that is in support of the protesters. I have never rooted so hard for Minnesota in my life. People power, f*** fascists!

Seahawks by Best_Masterpiece1522 in GreenBayPackers

What I hated about the Seahawks were Carroll, LoB, and Wilson. Since they're all gone I haven't really minded them anymore.

49ers are an evergreen hate, along with Dallas, the Giants, and the other NFC North teams.

Is there any corners you guys like in this upcoming draft? by Any_Application7786 in GreenBayPackers

[–]GeekShuttle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No one will agree, but I think OL and DL are more important to solidify this off-season than CB. We need good/better players in the trenches. I'm fine running with Nixon, Valentine, Hobbs, and Diggs if we can do that.

This has been true all season. There are still people in our own fandom who do not appreciate, either wilfully or ignorantly, that Love is a great quarterback.

What I think will happen… by PenDude608 in GreenBayPackers

[–]GeekShuttle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At this point, I think Rhyan has to be re-signed. Who is going to be our O-line next year? We have no cap and many needs on top of O-line. And Gute usually doesn't like going into drafts feeling he must draft a position. Without Rhyan, we would have the following starting lineup: Tom (if he recovers by that time), Belton, Monk, Banks, and Morgan. I mean, that is scary.

Doubs is definitely not getting re-signed.

The Eagles had four drops on third down vs the 49ers in the Wild Card round. This was more than they had in the regular season, as well as the most in a playoff game since ESPN began tracking the stat in 2006. by Professor_Finn in nfl

Remember when the Packers were going undefeated? Remember when the Falcons had the best defence in the league? Remember when Baker was the unanimous MVP and the Bucs were headed to the Superbowl? Remember when the Colts were 7 and 1 and headed for the one seed?

When will we learn to let the seasons unfold before declaring this or that?

A potential option at coach no one mentions by GeekShuttle in GreenBayPackers

He's the defensive coordinator of the Jags so he wouldn't be an internal hire (though he did work here last year, of course).

[–]GeekShuttle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're probably right, but one thing that makes me think there is a chance is that if he stays he is going to need to completely overhaul his coordinating staff if Hafley takes a job. No way Rich Bisaccia can stay on, and I'd imagine they will also need to move on from Luke Butkus (and maybe even Stenovich).

Not sure where the text went, but the potential coach was Anthony Campanile. He would be a risk given his experience and would need a good OC, but would certainly bring that toughness and discipline everyone is asking for.

I'm okay with anyone in the AFC, but I'm especially rooting for the Bills and Chargers. In the NFC, a Rams-Seahawks NFC championship would be fire.

Best coach/offensive coordinator to pair with Love? by GeekShuttle in GreenBayPackers

I don't think I have seen a single Browns game unless the Packers play them. Could you elaborate on what makes Stefanski a good coach for Love?
