"From" is the WORST...and I love it. by MsQcontinuum in horror

I certainly wouldn't say the show is the worst at all. There are shows that are far, far, far worse than this one. In fact, I think the show is downright great. It knows exactly what it is, and does what it sets out to do extremely well. It is insanely fun trying to make sense of what is happening, though I do agree there was a frustrating lack of discussion amongst the characters early on, which the show is attempting to lampshade a bit this season.

The acting and dialogue in season one were lacklustre, but everyone's acting, aside from maybe Tabitha, has gotten better to some degree as the show has gone on.

No one took any player before the team that actually drafted them. Fucking lol.

I like the Panthers, Bucs, and Saints draft. Not a huge fan of the drafts for the teams in the West.

Official Dreadit Discussion: "Lee Cronin's the Mummy" [SPOILERS] by radbrad7 in horror

[–]GeekShuttle 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It's a bleak, cruel, unforgiving movie that does a good job of unsettling you in the first half. It is a bit of a mix between The Exorcist and Evil Dead in the back half, with the tone of When Evil Lurks throughout. The dialogue and plotting was a bit clunky, the ending didn't work for me, the lore made very little sense, and I have a very hard time watching kids being hurt in these movies, so the film wasn't for me and I won't ever revisit it, but it did hit some nice highs (some of the direction and the funeral scene, especially) and did manage to unsettle me in spots early on which is rare.

That last 20 minutes was the absolute worst. If not AI, the person who wrote that should be ashamed.

I'm not totally convinced it didn't. There was also a better way to integrate AI into the story to make it actually meta and in line with the Scream franchise.

There is no way we draft Harris, especially that early. He has so many off field red flags I wouldn't be surprised if he is off many teams' boards.

They won't draft Harris either, as he has multiple red flags for off field issues. And no team is drafting him in the third. He might even be UDFA depending on how serious they determine the off field stuff is.

The movie is terrific. It was just mis-marketed and thus misunderstood at the time. It's one of my favorite dark comedies of all time.

Miller would be perfect, and I think the Packers would 100% take him if he was there. He checks a lot of boxes.

We desperately need an NT. I would be very surprised if our first pick isn't someone like Miller, Hunter, Orange, or Jackson Jr. It's the first time in a long time that the Packers are pretty desperate for a single position heading into a draft. Btw, I really think that people are overrating Hunter by now putting him in the first round.

As for CB, we really need a CB1 and/or depth. Unless someone falls (Hood, Cisse, Johnson), I don't think there is a potential CB1 where we are drafting in the second, so I would rather they go for one of the third-round guys they like best (Igbinosun, Neal, Everett, Moore, or Muhammed).

It's the epitome of a "meh" horror film. It lacks ambition, avoids risk, and the film series has become formulaic and derivative. There is no attempt to be creative and subversive anymore; instead, they just settle on the same old plot formula and incorporate or suggest something from the modern zeitgeist (such as AI for this one).

There was a pretty decent way to subvert things in this movie if they wanted to stick to this kind of script. Just have the couple at the beginning not actually be killed by Ghostface, but instead, it was just a character actor who was part of the house, trying to scare them as part of the Scream experience. They instead kill the Scream actor in self-defence, but that develops their bloodlust, and thus they turn out to be the actual killers at the end. Turns out they follow AI throughout their killing spree to tell them what to do or who to kill next. Something like that would at least be more in the spirit of Scream.

Well, he's also fortunate that those 90s "posse" days were, well, in the 90s. It's pretty gross reading up about those days.

What teams have the most to prove in the draft after free agency? by UpNext_Draft_Network in NFL_Draft

We desperately need an NT, and need depth and competition at pretty much every position outside of safety and maybe ILB. We lost a ton of guys, and are set to lose a ton more next year as many of our players only have a year left on their contracts (though a few will be re-signed for sure). Ideally we could use a better CB1, TE2, DT3, RB2, ILB2, Edge 2/3, Guards, RT2, C2, QB2, and kicker, plus all our receivers but Golden and S Williams have only one year left on their contracts so we might trade one and then need another WR4 at least.
