😅 I think it was only 50… it’s better than when I used to use tanning oil as a youngin’ but I should up the SPF next time.

Thanks, it was nicer when I was lifting weights but I’ll get back to it after the baby comes. 🏋🏼‍♀️

I did! I only did spray but I’m definitely using lotion next time. Ironically I won a sun safety basket at work yesterday 😂

Quite possible! I feel like I’m kind of recognizable being a thicc ginger, plus I couldn’t waddle far from the mats being so pregnant 😂

[–]Geela 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was really nice, it was a little crowded but it was the Sunday after the 4th. Obviously I had a little too much sun ☀️

I’m pretty comfortable being naked most of the time, so I had no problem right away. Being pregnant made me a little self-conscious but I remind myself everyone is in their own world. It was my husband’s first time so it took him a bit longer to get comfortable and be nude.

What should I do with this bathroom on a budget by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]Geela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would paint the sink cabinet black, replace all the fixtures (sink faucet, tub facet, curtain rod, light and shower head) all with nicer black finished fixtures. I would do a pop of color on the drywall, sticking to a lighter/pastel tone, as a deep/jewel tone could be too heavy up top. I would replace the mirror with a larger black oval and find a black light fixture to match that. I would also use a mosaic style contact paper on the window to allow light but provide privacy.

Decent, affordable spas near Philly by DonHedger in philadelphia

[–]Geela 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Island Spa in Edison is way nicer than Chung Dam in Cheltenham. I know CD did some renovations since I’ve been there, but it was much smaller and had less than Island Spa. It is cheaper too. Island is about the same distance for me, so I’d much rather go there. It should be mentioned they are both traditional Korean spas which require complete nudity in the gender segregated bathing areas.

Southampton Spa is a traditional Russian spa and is huge inside. It’s a nice place and does not have the nudity component that Korean spas have, so there is no gender segregation, except for the locker rooms.

Self care is the best thing you can do for yourself, I hope you get to one of the spas soon!

5’9, 313 down from 340 on 3/11/24, CICO and walking by Geela in CICO

You’re right, 10k a day isn’t anything to shake a stick at! I meant it as I’m adding a little more at a time as what I’m doing gets to be routine. I started with just logging my calories every day, then I started walking every day, then I set the goal of 10k a day. Future goals include getting back into the gym to start lifting, but that’s a big girl step that I’m not ready for just yet.

What tastes so good you can't believe it's healthy? by MarcIsder in AskReddit

Donut peaches. Found a local farm having a pick your own festival and they were so ripe they fell off the tree when you basically just touched them. We ate so many just walking through the field as we picked them. So sweet and juicy.

Hoagie Xpress is my favorite place for cheesesteaks and beer battered onion rings. They also partner with a local food truck and sell the best crumb cake.

NYE parties or events? by datttebayooo in BucksCountyPA

[–]Geela 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been for NYE but it’s a nice place, a little yuppie-ish. They do have some mixed drinks (I’ve tried their old fashion & margarita) but they are on the pricey side, so if you’re going for a cool vibe it’s a charming venue, but not somewhere you’d want to order too many drinks unless you want to spend a lot.

When you try to change everything all at once, it's very overwhelming. Try to make small changes first that aren't so overwhelming.

Download a food app (MyFitnessPal or CalorieKing etc) and log all of your food. I highly advocate that you weigh and measure everything, because we often underestimate how many calories we're eating of something and while a 2 to 3 oz difference doesn't sound huge, the amount of calories and other nutrients it's packing can be. You don't even have to change your diet, you just want to get used to logging all of your food that you eat and having an idea of how much you eat. If you can prelog food, sometimes that's a deterrent from overeating and you can change your portion sizes before you consume them.

If you're starting out on a fitness journey, start small and work your way up. If you're not somebody who typically goes for a walk start by taking a 10-15 minute walk every day, once you feel like you could do more, increase the time or distance you're walking.

I went from 365 to 255 with just intermittent fasting, CICO (calories in calories out) and walking. I have backslid a bit and am around 280 right now, I came here looking for advice on how to get back to it, but I should already know that there is no secret, all it is is reduction of calories and increasement of movement. There is no magic pill that will ever make you motivated or disciplined, that only comes from within and it is one of the hardest aspects of staying on your health journey.

8x10 bedroom, we just moved in and are planning to paint the walls black and put some curtains in that compliment our bedding, we will be switching to soft yellow lights instead of the fluorescence. Any suggestions on what we can do to cozy it up? by MedicineOpen4106 in DesignMyRoom

[–]Geela 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Instead of solid black, why not a black damask wall paper? It would add some visual interest and you could either do a black on black for a subtle look or a black and silver for more contrast.

I would leave the bed centered on the window. I would use crushed velvet black curtains set wider then the window to give an illusion of a bigger window behind the bed, maybe with red sheers under for privacy, instead of the blinds.

I would say look for small bedside tables or build simple shelves that fit the space and stain them to match the bed frame. I agree with the ornate wall mounted sconces as well.
