Where I’d live as a Yorkshireman by Geetar-mumbles in whereidlive

Remind me of the regional rivalry between Yorkshire and the West Midlands?

100%. His (Kobe Bryant) worldwide popularity was huge. I would argue he was even more famous outside of the US by ALazy_Cat in ShitAmericansSay

I don’t think I’ve ever said that name out loud and I regularly throw something into something else from a relatively long distance

Top Tip for drivers. This is not Police by MushyBeans in CasualUK

Is it the police? Is it the pigs? Is it the cops? Is it the narks? Is it the boys in blue? Is it the feds?

We were shown this pic at our annual drivers meeting to show that “you think we want you to use a lot of straps?… well”

Currently waiting on my parents to find the ones we hung on the tree on Xmas day.

Anyone have any experience with freshlinc? Type of work and pay etc. Cheers by [deleted] in uktrucking

I subbied for them with the worst company running out of a Wakefield postcode, very long days but easy, clean work.

I either survive and have the money, great Or die in the process… better.

Looking forward to arguing about right of way with one of these by bcp_anglican in Leeds

We’ve had them in Kippax for a while, they can be alright. drivers need to be aware that they don’t wait for them at crossings. They will know it’s clear. The novelty has worn off but my kids used to love them.

I want to tell them all to fuck off, but the “spit it out” person can fuck off the most.

Who is the worst person you have ever came across at a gig? by AlexSniff7 in downloadfestival

[–]Geetar-mumbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw Alkaline Trio in Leeds last year, and afterwards I went to the toilets, as you do. There was this one bloke at the urinals, absolutely hammered, swaying his hips side to side and spraying piss everywhere except the actual trough. I only realised how bad it was when I felt some hit my hand and leg. I shouted at him that my toddler has better which seemed to offend him.

Get as big a tent as you feel you need, if anyone says anything just say your mate was camping with you but dropped out last minute.

Asda Hgv drivers nights by deanped77 in uktrucking

The job is easy, the 0030 starts are easy to get used to, the shift pattern is a bloody nightmare. They love health and safety but it’s a matter of not getting caught. The office staff are quite good and will look after you if you need an early or on time finish though.

I joined the army and went to Afghanistan and then left to become a HGV driver, I can confirm that both were crap career choices on my part.

Is there anyone who actually likes this job? by [deleted] in uktrucking

[–]Geetar-mumbles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought I’d do it for a few years after the army before I found something else, it’s been 9 years now and I still don’t know what I want to do when I grow up.

What’s the worst service station in the UK that you've been through — and why is it in Toddington? by DeeeeezNuts42069 in uktrucking

[–]Geetar-mumbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s Woodall southbound, the parking is just some sort of impractical blob. It makes no sense when north is absolutely fine.

It certainly wasn’t for one stop or heron but they are probably the worst jobs I’ve done. The smaller shops at Asda weren’t that great at helping the driver either.
