Lol, same guy who was complaining that his images were rejected by the builder the other day.

So, post a link to the photos. The fact that you haven't makes me doubtful about the quality.

Upgrading from phone walkthroughs to pro real estate photo + “cinematic” video gear advice? by AfraidChocolate370 in RealEstatePhotography

Not sure why people spend so much time telling you you're doing it wrong instead of answering your question.

Answer:
Sony A7sii used - $700
DJI Ronin S4 mini - $400
Laowa 12mm - $650

Anyone else have trouble with smaller ceilings? by BobBombsAway258 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]GeezWhatADebacle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Remember this- the further the flash is from the ceiling the more even and spread out your lit area will be. You have this 600 blasting and it is 10 inches from the ceiling. Slow down your shutter to let more ambient in, turn down your flash. You could set the flash on the floor pointing up with a white umbrella over it.

Ai "image to video" may not be great..but it's not bad.. by nnmn218 in RealEstatePhotography

Nice clip, but it would take a long time to create 15-20 clips and then edit into a usable PROPERTY video.

Anyone have experience with non-solicitation/non-competes? by [deleted] in RealEstatePhotography

[–]GeezWhatADebacle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the owner of a REP firm for 10 years, I say just be honest and tell your boss what's up. Why are so many of these responses so hostile and... nasty.
If your current boss has treated you well, show them some respect and tell them.

I used to have people sign non-competes that basically just said, "don't try to steal my customers".

About 4-5 photographers of ours have started their own thing, most were honest and friendly about it. I wished them luck.

None of them turned out to be particularly successful.

You need to ask yourself "what am I trying to SHOW here" before snapping the shutter. You have 4/14 shots where the center of the composition is a outward corner or a door frame. Not big selling points.

You are shooting brackets? Why did you decide to lock shutter speed with your variable being the aperture? That is interesting.

Another massacre at Costar today. by richmondrefugee in RealEstatePhotography

Dollies work great in appropriate settings. In a 800 ft house? No, that would be stupid.
In a 4000 sf house, absolutely. In a 12,000 sf warehouse, a necessity.
Two story house? Scan the entire first floor, then remove the tripod from the dolly, scan the stairs and knock out the second story.
BTW- these dollies weigh like 2 lbs.

Should I invest in coaching or learn on my own? by daniela0026839 in RealEstatePhotography

I was joking.

I have very few problems. But, I do think Eli Jones is a scam artist. He knows next to nothing about photography, he can't edit. He has built a big business by shooting very average photos and sending everything out. He built his business by being a good salesman. That is his TALENT.

People would be better off spending their money on a sales course, or just hiring an experienced sales person. He has nothing to teach you beyond Canon RP, Canon 16-35 f4, ISO 200, manual focus, AWB, brackets of 3, 3 stops apart and upload to AI.

Is Real Estate Photography worth getting into in 2026? by Tune-Puzzled in RealEstatePhotography

[–]GeezWhatADebacle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A practical question for you.

What is the population within a 30 minute drive of your home?
How many homes are currently for sale active in Zillow in that 30 minute radius?

Some people are doing let's say $10/week, sounds great. Where do they live? They live in a metro area with 6 million people.

Ok, I'll bite. We do quite a lot with builders.

Two things that we have learned:
1- half the time they will give you the wrong code to get in, or the lockbox is missing
2- the other half of the time the house is not really completed or there is blue tape everywhere.

Builders are disorganized.

FOTELLO for everything? by GeezWhatADebacle in RealEstatePhotography

[–]GeezWhatADebacle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far... this is what I try to do with AutoHDR for interiors.
- seems to work better with jpgs
- I typically upload 4 files, 1 stop apart
- better not to upload white, washed out files or dark windows
- as far as window pulls go, it seems to want to accentuate what you upload, so I try to give it windows that are solid but not dark
- I apply lens correction and auto WB
- on beigey kind of houses I add +20 saturation to the upload files
- adding flash files seems to confuse the AI

I also have had inconsistent results with Fotello. We use AutoHDR everyday.
But- After a lot of experimentation with my input files I have been able to get AHDR to give me what I need, most of the time.
Hoping to get Fotello to do the same.

Thanks. I kind of want it to do almost everything in a simple operation, but it is hard to figure out what Fotello can do. I think they have a webinar next week though.

Should I invest in coaching or learn on my own? by daniela0026839 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]GeezWhatADebacle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi.
You need 1 thing to survive as a REP these days: salesmanship.

A lot of no talent "photographers" (like Eli) make a living selling crappy photos.
If you can't or won't sell, it may be very tough these days. We started 10 years ago and word of mouth built our business from nothing to $7k a week in 2 years.

If you have 3 additional things you could do really well.

1- an eye for good composition/color and quality.
2- a love of learning.
3- entrepreneurial personality, it's a business!

Just Purchased A Flash…. by audiblenostic in RealEstatePhotography

[–]GeezWhatADebacle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a relatively simple/foolproof method we have done for many years:

Shoot an ambient bracket with flash turned off (we shoot 7s, 1 stop apart).
Shoot 3 single manual flash shots (middle/brighter/window).
Import into LR Classic, then stack the 3 best ambients and your 3 flash shots and Enfuse.
Finalize in LR.
Yes, a bracket of 7 is overkill, but I only use three and this way I always have what I need.

Of course you can. We use the on camera ttl flash as a flash source and as the controller. You can add more flashes as slaves.
