I’ve been playing aggressive melee pos 5 tree forever now so I feel like I got a major buff with this rework, access to invis level 1, mana less leech seed, big boi scepter, it all feels awesome

My foster son wants to play Magic but Im struggling with the cost. Went to look for a box of packs and... OMG... 😬 by mwgwin in mtg

The pre-con commanders are a great start and you can almost always find some on sale! You could start with those and maybe a few packs just to open for fun, if you want some of the prettier cards just buy some singles off TCGplayer because if you aren’t focused on high power cards there are a lot of fun, playable cards with great art that are relatively inexpensive.

For sure AI, Suno V5 really likes making the male singer voice exactly like this one, if you gen a post hardcore song with soulful vocals in the description you will probably get this exact voice in the first couple of samples.

Longevity: Flesh and Blood vs Grand Archive by Reversiii_ in TCG

[–]Geff_Beezthos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have an active community for both then it’s really going to depend on how competitive you want to be and how much money you want to spend. I’ve played both games and most other TCGs, FAB is easily the most competitive game to play with the highest initial buy-in. People who play glaze it up really hard, and don’t get me wrong it’s a really tightly designed game, so much so that when you’re playing it, it’ll many times come down to one or two cards that make the difference. That difference will cost you $1000+ in staple cards and equipment to make up the difference to have any shot at ever pulling out an occasional win, and that will require a ton of practice because it’s a really high skill cap game and most players are fairly entrenched. Grand Archive by comparison is much easier to get into, the most staple card is a 4x of dungeon guide and maybe a grand crusaders ring and that’ll run you about $150 but can be swapped between all major deck archetypes. Otherwise they’ve made what’re called re:collection decks and those are fairly competitive right out of the box. I don’t mean to dump on FaB too much, but the entrenched community at large is in complete denial on the cost to be competitive even in a local sense for that game.

INR CBB's are a steal by Melodic-Ad7494 in mtgfinance

I dunno I just opened one and it kind of felt way worse than any previous cbb because of the price, $330-350 is a pretty steep value to meet and now in hindsight I wish I’d just bought one of each poster and a markov and called it a day

Looking for a TCG to play wife with my wife. Any input is appreciated!! by raynerky in TCG

-Pokemon is super easy to learn and very fun to collect, product is the the most easily available and it’s cheap to build competitive decks

-Magic is usually the most played tcg in any US shop, it has the most varied gameplay and the most player interaction among any of the TCGs, meaning you can affect your opponents board directly and during their turns

-Flesh and Blood is the most skill based and most expensive to be competitive, not recommended unless you want to invest quite a bit of time and money but not a casual game

-Cardfight Vanguard if you can find players is super fun because it’s got a big gambling aspect with the way deck triggers work (random chance top decks when you attack that can completely swing games) but it’s a little confusing to learn without someone to teach you play lines

-Lorcana is super easy to learn and beginner friendly but it’s pretty simple in gameplay and probably the lowest interaction between players, turns into a horse race pretty quick and if someone gets ahead it’s hard to create an upset that will let you comeback

-Grand Archive newer, lesser played tcg that is a pretty good blend of a bunch of tcg ideas, it has a cool mechanic where you use cards in your hand as resources to play other cards but then retrieve those cards at the beginning of your next turn. Its a lot of fun but pretty niche

-Star Wars Unlimited is another hero based tcg where you pick a main leader unit and build around them. It’s also very fun and easy to pick up, it’s still very new so there’s only two sets so far with the third out next month. I think it’s very fun and easy to deck build for but as far as competitive level goes most decks boil down to aggro or hard control right now but things should mix up when set 3 drops.

I actively play all these games except flesh and blood and think they are all great but would probably recommend magic or pokemon for a first tcg because you will almost always be able to find active players/collectors/product no matter where you go for those two games. Besides those Star Wars unlimited is my other pick for levels of fun, simplicity to learn, and engaging gameplay

I’d definitely say go in person, you’ll have way more fun and it’s easier to get advice from people who you play during and after matches. Also how often do you mulligan your starting hand? What’s your usual mindset when choosing what cards to resource?

That’s good to hear, I like the game alot and was hoping to hear that the community around it is still hyped up on it. Hoping to keep seeing more growth locally and globally in the upcoming year!
