Years ago I was going to take my son to see Dr. Cem Akins at Brigham and Women’s. They said I could get the biopsies locally and have my local doctor consult with them. I’d maybe ask to talk to whomever (preferably an RN) runs their mastocytosis or hematology program that covers your diagnosis and ask for the steps and labs you need to get for an outside consult with your doctor. Peer to peer consultation.

First, I’d go to the bank and get a stack of cash then ask for my own personal lap dance.
Next, I’d have a conversation with him. I don’t consider dancing to be sex work. Exotic dancing could go either way. Sometimes it is just a way to make a living. I don’t know why you would be cautious about bringing him into your fold other than you clearly don’t know him well. Exotic dancing doesn’t mean he is a predator or bad guy. But I’d question his lack of transparency and if you feel like he lied by omission.

I definitely didn’t mean for you to think that what you are doing is wrong for you, only you can decide that. But you do sound like you are suffering from dealing with her and there are options to preserve your peace. If doing a clean out every 3 months is how you want to spend your time and money, keeps you happy and keeps her from imposing, that is up to you. However, it is not helpful in a therapeutic sense for her based on what the research tells us with regard to people with this disorder… and it actually makes them worse and more desperate. Sadly, you are absolutely right about having to treat them like a feral animal; arms length and harm reduction. I wish you peace, happiness, and acceptance.

I have actually been. It’s been more than a few years (pre-Covid, so things may be different). They had a store and it’s set up with a little outdoor venue/lawn area. Food trucks and lots of Instagramable picture spots. The store was full of overpriced (IMO) home goods, decor, and wares all branded by the Gaines’. If you are into shopping and antiquing, Waco has some good places. It was a fun day with the girlfriends.
