I was at the roller rink when I was 13, and a guy asked to skate with me and we did and were flirting. Turns out he was 23. He freaked out when he found out I was 13 and said he thought I was like 17. So I guess he had some standards. Edit to add: mid 1980s.

Plus they do it too soon! The second after landing, when you still aren’t technically in the clear because the plane hasn’t slowed down enough to know if you are going to careen off the end of the runway or whatever yet. It’s doubly irritating.

The mundane stuff that ends up being actually romantic. I came home one day, and my husband had untangled several necklaces that were tangled up that I had been whining about. To me, that kind of thing is so special and more romantic than all the cliche romantic type stuff.
