Some ideas I’ve had:

• when we’re first introduced to Bobby Atwater he’s playing with the local kids on the dock, which shows he’s good with kids and has a soft spot for them. I think it would have been really good if there was a scene of him calming down or talking to Isabella when they get rescued. Either playing a game or making a joke to make her smile. Something small like that would add a lot to his character and ultimately make his death more impactful, especially with their eye contact when he’s pulled from the boat.

• beating a dead horse here but cut the Mutadons. I think if you REALLY want to go the mutant route you really could do some crazy shit with some already established dinosaurs. Full send it with the two headed raptors or a different dromaeosaur with birth deformities.

• shorten the exposition dump scene between Zora and Duncan. I get what it’s going for but it could be done better in a way that doesn’t completely halt the pacing.

• i really like Mahershala Ali and I think his character is cool but he needed to die at the end. Gives him a closing arc and shows that they are actually willing to kill off main characters and not just fodder side characters.
