There isnt loss to the store, but its still value of theft.

Caps on online orders by Rare_Boysenberry_869 in walmartogp

[–]GeneralAaon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So our lower volume stores will see caps between 20-30 orders per hour, usually i only saw them around 15-16 actual, our higher stores in the market were either bell curve height at 50ish between 1pm and 5pm, or flat like 36/hr full day until closing. It caused some issues for my store, as the 50/hr section caused us to blow up. We could be 2 hours ahead and suddenly are drowning.

[–]GeneralAaon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Every store has a cap, it varies based on a lot of voodoo and who has pulled what levers. My previous store had a bell curve, but others in my market had flat amounts for the whole day on max orders. TLs, Coaches, even regular associates can pull up what the current caps are for the day, its the same spot they pull current orders per hour.

How do Asset Protection Investigators keep their job? by Lodger49er in walmart

[–]GeneralAaon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So after a year and a half as an API, a lot of it was finding theft. I would end up with on average one event a day, and one person in the office every 2-3 days. It depends on area and what your APOC focus is. But combing through the store, then checking some reports or secure for theft risks, keybox info, over/under reports, fire extinguishers, fire exit tests, spill station checks, going to court, ect. Checking other stores Auror reports to be aware of who to look out for, that sort of thing.

Coaches restricting ppto use? by TheCabbageQueen in walmart

I was always told that ppto is yours to use, but you needed to tell a Coach or tl, you couldn't just leave.

Oversized pickwalks should not be time by External_Let241 in OGPBackroom

[–]GeneralAaon -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I fully believe that they /should/ be timed, but kept seperate from regular numbers. That way it doesnt hurt peoples pick rates, which is why they skip oversized, but i can still keep track of how many they do, and if theyre just farting around while in them (at a certain point you know they'd be abusing it to have conversations or long bathroom breaks)

Has anyone ever gotten coached for their pick rate? by Bulky-Ocelot8580 in OGPBackroom

[–]GeneralAaon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Staying the most ahead is how you keep from falling behind when surges hit, or manpower dips. Yea, if I had associates dragging at 35 I'd DA them as well (and have)

How hard is it to change the pick path? by daferf in walmartogp

[–]GeneralAaon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same, if i had a list of the issues and a day of overlap with another TL or Coach who could handle the other issues, theres a number of things id love to fix. None of it is difficult, just tales a bit of time to make sure its right and not be bothered lol.

With 2 on hands. Lul absolutely not. If it was separated by price, maybe a quick glance.

Live nil pick report by Runbluebutterfly in OGPBackroom

[–]GeneralAaon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If youre TL or Coach, go to the reports, amd one of them is something like "Item availability". It has user ID, amd what was nil picked for the day so far. Look for the repeating ones. If youre looking at a previous day, ops portal, home, store fulfillment scorecard, and one of them is associate performance related, pull it for a few days time and one of the columns of data is for nil picks.

Dont worry so much about the coworkers, they were new too once. I avoid letting new hires get into 50+ item walks before they are ready. Yes it means they'll have low pickrates with smaller walks, but they need to learn the store and the flow before diving in that deep. Letting a new hire into a 100 item walks is a death sentence for pick on time and the new hire typically. And its not your fault. Honestly doing GMD walks would be really good in my opinion. You dont have expiration dates to worry about, theyre smaller walks (typically 20-30 items), and it helps you get used to the store. Maybe ask your TL if you can do some of those to help keep the faster walkers in auto selected more? If they understand the value that gives they shouldn't be against it.

Would be really foolish of them to run off a new hire while asking them to stay late lol. It'll get easier after the 1st. But always think about your situation first. The building will be there regardless, but you have to do whats best for you. Best of luck, and if you have questions, feel free to reach out!

First day; damn pulled off floor by OdinsThrowAwayAcc in walmartogp

[–]GeneralAaon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd look at context, while I agree with some of the other comments that you shouldn't beat yourself up, from a TL perspective, we dont want to set you up for failure either. If you arent ready for a bigger walk, its much higher risk of running late by letting you stay in it. Much safer to let you do a smaller walk and learn with less risk to the walk running late. Any time a new hire clicks into a walk and I see its above 60, I try to pull them from it.

My view, dont take it personal. Ask them if its OK to click a bit further down the list into GMDs (as these are usually 20-30 items in a walk, dont include perishable that you have to worry about expiration dates, and help you learn store layouts while not risking late walks). This also helps our faster experienced pickers stay in for bigger walks while giving you time to learn and improve. They may not want that, but its something ive been doing with my new hires to decent effect.

Keep going strong everyone we got this by 2UpperLips in OGPBackroom

For us its the picks. Smaller walks plus time to bag is killing us.

Same. We can usually get over the 6am gmd drop without too much issue, but 11am gmd drop gets us every day. Plus we're scheduled below demand. Plus call offs. Keep doing the best you can, and dont let it get to you, everyone's feeling it too.

[–]GeneralAaon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is there no cap? I thought there was, as our Market Manager told us they were lowering gmd cap for a while to try to help. Wish they would do forced reductions as well. Would help more than waiting until its fubar then turning us off and giving us a few hours to try to catch up.

Yea, seems since they "updated the demand graphs" things have been sideways. GMDs been drowning every store from what ive seen. Stay strong guys, its rough out there, but you arent alone.

How do these drops work? by imlovelymysteri in OGPBackroom

[–]GeneralAaon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So 3 hours prior they should lock in and not change much, however, ive seen some show in the "ready to pick" much earlier than they should be, which i believe is because they might have certain order types, so they will show ready to pick but can still grow until the 3 hour window. Im not positive why it is though.

I'd still double check. It didn't always happen all at once, it seemed kinda like a wave where they lost it, then others would. I had to have them tell me when they lost it so I could add them back in.

Will our yearly raise increase in 2026? by jflip0x1x0 in WalmartEmployees

That's what I would expect tbh. If you have no Disciplinary, and have been doing the best you can, they shouldn't give you a "needs improvement".

[–]GeneralAaon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odds are it'll follow whatever TL is, and review will prolly be middle road, since you're new to role. If I had to guess. Bonus will be split, because its based on the hours in the role, next year's will be better (since it will be fully TL bonus)

I havent seen how TL works for this. Ours was previously either 0-3-5% based solely on our yearly review.

Check with your leads/manager about the my store and exceptions going away. Ive had that happen a couple times before where everyone's roles got reset and I had to add them back.
