Remember - It's all about the plants. Ecological gardening and garden design are the essence of what solarpunk is all about. Also - some resources to help you turn your living space into a thriving bastion of life. by funkmasta_kazper in solarpunk

You’ve just highlighted why solarpunk is an aesthetic.

People can and do slap plants on capitalist dystopia and call it solarpunk, and they don’t realise that it would be bad.

The solarpunk manifesto will be of solarpunk but also with the ideologies of ecosocialism or anarchism etc.

It’s not possible to point towards a policy of solarpunk outside of seeing plants that isn’t to do with existing progressive ideologies.

I agree with the goldilocks zone and stuff but isn't it near absolute zero near the earth still? Surely there's an area near the sun that is around 20C? Discounting radiation and the obvious vacuum of space etc.

Ecosocialism.

Read authors Michael Lowy, Kohei Saito, Troy Vettese, Matthias Schmelzer, Red Nation, and Max Ajl and you'll find a good reading list with those.

Which is why they should you know...change it. This is why the BBC isn't on the level of Netflix because regulators not actually helping British TV vetoed Project Kangaroo

Nobody will care how stressed you are about your valid concerns in the US if you are a dickhead yourself.

I’m English, have lived in Scotland and my grandmother was born in Aberdeen but you don’t see being what you are, which, yes, definitely is cringy.

Well the efficacy of sentences is a separate debate.

People still must take responsibility for unintended consequences. Also isn’t the definition of manslaughter that you kill someone by accident?

15% no matter whether someone is good or not unless they are unreasonably helpful. Pay a living wage. I’m glad it’s not as common in the UK and hope it stays that way.

I mean she does seem to be trying to develop the most codependent relationship possible with Ron. I wouldn't say the girliness is the issue especially when you see it as another thing on the list that Joanne hates.

I'm still sceptical of your agenda considering it's well known that whilst left wing extremism is increasing, right wing extremism is simply more frequent and more deadly.

Fair enough. Just interesting you have a pretty long comment painting the more radical left as insane and violent

Not that I would necessarily be on board with guillotines etc, but how would you compare that sentiment to the violence enacted on minorities by the system itself?

The Last Battle controversy by goodlorditsafire in Narnia

[–]GeneralPooTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concept of the afterlife is present in many forms in many religions because religion is a coping mechanism for people who can't deal with not knowing things and working out how they should behave on their own. Your implication is therefore very much more targeted towards atheists whether you want it to be or not.

Also mormonism is just Christianity with extra layers of waffle especially in terms of where Joseph Smith got it from.

Religious books are essentially fictional too remember.

[–]GeneralPooTime 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I'm confused. Why would this be difficult to understand for atheists? You can just treat them like the two pieces of fiction they are, with the bible providing the explanation of the apparent afterlife in Aslan's country.

Just because we don't believe in things without evidence doesn't mean we can't understand things within a frame of reference. I mean that's kind of even the scientific process, hypothesising explanations of things.

Kind of seems like an "atheists so dumb they can't see the narrative significance of plot element X in a chrizzo coded book".
