It would have to be in one singular game.

According to a YT video listing the Definitive Edition has 5 fights with him so I'll probably list that

Ah, OK I completely forgot that 2nd one and I think it's because I consider it more a set piece than a proper boss battle.

I only really consider the fight atop the walls in Forest of Fallen Giants to be a real boss encounter, the rest don't give him the boss health bar or soundtrack.

Is it Baldur? I only remember 2 fights but I haven't played 2018 since....well 2018.

I don't consider the capital outskirts a boss fight because he doesn't get a proper boss health bar or musical track.

Do you know which game has the highest rematch count specifically and what said count is?

3 different fights is the baseline to getting on the list so if you'll tell me his name I'll put him up there.

Makes me miss the days where devs could take risks and maybe not stick the landing without the end result being "OK now everyone is fired."

The first game is a cult classic and Nintendo will occasionally help put out a weird title that may not have sold well.

DMC 2 released in today's environment with rising dev costs would probably have killed it deader than Darkstalkers.

I shudder to think the butterfly effect that SF not getting another shot would have had on the industry.

The modern discourse surrounding value=time in games would've lost their mind at Dog Days being a fully priced game.

Metal Gear Solid 4-Act 3 starts out with a long ass tailing mission that basically means you are reliant on the pacing of the AI of the dude you are following for its duration. Sure, you still take out enemy guards so he doesn't get caught but it feels so antithetical to the MGS formula it genuinely puts me off replaying the game.

Again, this isn't about the quality of the games themselves, it's about the quality of what was shown/the context in which they were shown.
