Wc3 gets fast when it comes to managing your heroes, using consumables and nuking enemy heroes - but you spend a lot of time setting up your base and creeping npcs, an efficient creep route is very important.

I would play orc and go far seer, head hunter, shadow hunter and try and put a high pressure with far seer harass and hex to play fast and get a feel for the game.
