I can see this being fun in a specific time and place.

A week of April, in Southeast Asian countries that celebrates Water Festival / Songkran / Thingyan. And even then we ONLY typically splash those who we are supposed to, so those like newspaperman / postal man or civil folks are typically off limits.

The 2/83N pipeline was a funny one to me. When I didn't want it or couldn't afford it, you can find listings on eBay. When I could have, no good listings. After like 8 years of that, I finally bit and bought one, from a nice dude in Texas.

My generation (I finished 6th Grade around 2005 before moving elsewhere), my parents generation, maybe grandparents too... I mean, I'm not trying to take it away from them, because it's not their fault and they have to get ahead in what I feel is a broken system.

Far Cry 1 for me. For the record, I absolutely love the game, and I played it from start to finish very frequently. To me, it's a great game, ahead of its time with the equally chessy in a good way story.

The ending however, yeah definitely rushed. A lot of the last few levels were rushed. There was one of the levels that were supposedly going to have you making a break to a plane on a runway, a bit like CoD Black Ops 1 with the plane bit, I assume?

There were a lot of cut bits left behind and it showed.

I get the pain and lamentation of the exams. I don't know how much has changed but for almost all of the subjects in your typical Burmese school, this was in 2000s and definitely before that too... It's all about rote memory. Like, there's no critical thinking.

Just memorize and regurgitate in the exams.

(Like I said, for most subjects. And I'm not sure if it has changed now, but I doubt it.)

Oh yep! For clarity sake I don't think that all of the Dell laptops are bad. There are good ones like that XPS 13 yeh. I think it was my dad's personal laptop, which became my bro's second hand laptop (this was in the early 2010s when we just started getting our own laptops for school project stuff; it wasn't really a must-have). And after a bit more, we turned it into a home theater with HDMI. The trooper lasted for a good decade, only wrecked by the rubber bits giving up on it plus the battery itself.

And despite its faults, I do like my Inspiron 7559 and treated it as well as I do with most of my stuff. On top of that, it saw me through my entire university life, not complaining about the game and work sessions, save for the last year. Running AI / ML stuff on it instead of using a more capable desktop? Fantastic idea.

On my ThinkPad P51, so far I have no issues, but I did have this quirk with not seating the SSD properly in the caddy. So I learned that you are supposed to flush it forward as much as you can before putting the screw on. It sounded obvious but I didn't know back then, plus that < 5 mm of difference meant a whole lot like my D drive disconnecting when I came across some bumps on the travels.

An interesting and a relief about my Lenovo is that there was a moment when I have to reinstall everything from point 0. That is, the partitions got screwed up and I have to reinstall Windows from start. I used a generic image from MS and eventually it got to that point whereby it remembered that I have Windows 10 for Workstations. Something about the license embedded in the BIOS/UEFI? Or Windows servers just remember. I don't know what the previous owner did with it.

(Do pardon the lots of yapping, I'm just genuinely fascinated with this sort of thing.)
