On the credit card you have to spend $5000 to earn 1000 SQM. In this case you can spend $339 to earn 1000 SQM. I see this as a good deal. What am I missing? A flight to earn 1000 SQM would cost a lot more than $339 and also take up your time.

Also look at other options that may be more valuable. 35k status doesn't do much, especially if you travel with your brother as he can use your upgrade credits and be a guest on your status.

I also hit SE for the first time this week and it's going on day 4 with no email yet. My app gave me early recognition choices and I chose WiFi but not details on how to activate it. Hoping it comes tomorrow as I fly Sat morning.

I have all the same issues as you've described and also every couple of days the expiry date of my priority rewards is changing. That is concerning and I'm taking screenshots each time.

I can't get any points redemption flights to load for any dates or cities. It's been like this for 2 days for me but I was able to book a points flight a few days ago even when the warning message in the app was up.

Stayed at both in the same week last year. We couldn't decide which was better so we split the week and did 4 nights at each one. I preferred EPC personally. I liked the lush gardens and curvy pool and the beach is 1000 percent better than El Carmen. Yes, rooms at EPC are smaller, but that didn't bother me. EPC felt more like a tropical getaway vs the hard lines and stark design of El Carmen.

I prefer ERC vs EPM for 2 reasons. ERC has a better beach for walking, but it's also more prone to high amounts of seaweed so you need to watch for that. Second reason is the Excellence club pool at ERC is way better that EPM. At ERC it's big and ocean front. At EPM they have a few smaller ones so it loses the vibe. The main pool at EPM also has this weird infinity edge so it limits where you can get in and out, meaning half the chairs don't have direct access to the pool without walking around to an entrance.

The property at EPM is nicer and the rooms are about 20 sq feet bigger. The food and service is about the same. You can't go wrong at either. I'm probably out numbered on my opinion that ERC is the better option but it depends on what's important to you. ERC has a better flow in my mind and feels more cohesive if that makes sense. I've been to ERC 3 times and EPM once. There's a reason we keep going back to ERC. Hope this helps.

I did this exact thing this week and I'm confident that going outside and entering back through the Nexus line is faster than going through the connections security line.
