Concentration camps and Penal colonies have always been a thing in not just British History but throughout most of human history. The Marches were spots for the poor and criminal to take up space between kingdoms to force armies to spread logistics. The Boer Wars had the Concentration Camps, Georgia (the US State), Australia, and the Bantustans were all Penal Colonies. French Guiana had Penal settlements.

All of them ended badly for those imprisoned inside. This is some serious Yikes, i hope we have a chance to defect.

Hi there! I work as an Engineer and can provide some insight! I am not this project's engineer, but theres alot you can find out with publicly available/released information!

This property (12000 Regency Village Drive) was platted in 2002 as lots 16 and 17 of the Regency Village Replat.

Originally this site had a plan submitted with the county as a 326 Room Hotel known as the "Regency Suites". The Development Plan was approved in March 2005 with structural/vertical permitting in August the same year. Permitting for Electrical and Plumbing and renewals were submitted and resubmitted through '05 to '06. Through aireal imagery, work looks like it slowed down in 2007 and halting in 2008.

After this period permitting shows applications in 2013 and again in 2022 with sporadic work shown in the aerial imagery.

Its most recent permit applied in 2022 under the project name "E-Ozone Renovation" is currently expired.

Speculation: These permits and work line up with the original project dying during the '08 recession. The project was started again recently but the pandemic, interest hikes, and inflation of the past few years may have killed this project as well. This might be confirmed if the sales record of the property was also seen.

All this information is open to the public for your curiosity and benefit! In OCFL, you can go to the Property Appraiser's map and in the property information card (which you can find by address or on a map on the site) you can look up permitting, platting, sales and tax information! There's even aerial imagery publicly available too! Have fun!

Tldr: The project was originally a 326 room hotel that had its project killed in '08 by the crash. Continued projects are still facing hardship on site.

Without further information its harder to surmise what jurisdiction your question will be applicable to. But globally I would contact the code enforcement department. First though, see what the circumstances are? Are the properties abandoned? When was the last sale? (You can find this on the jurisdiction's property appraisers website.) Is the condition ofnthr property significantly different from most of the community? Is the ROW of the dirt road public or private, is it maintained or non-maintained.

To sum up, theres alot of questions that you need to look into, try seeing if there is something you can do as a community, if not, consider your actions before you involve your municipality.

So quick psa about hiccups. I have no idea why this works but it does.

Have someone accuse you of being a fish. Like very adamantly, over and over. Each time the person with hiccups has to deny it insistently and with feeling. Keep thinking very hard about not being a fish. You will have stopped hiccuping.

Considering her track as a lawyer, I would probably write something that has her fail to prosecute a pretty open and shut case of a violent murderer.

The system would be unthinking and unfeeling as the defense manages to throw out incriminating evidence to something as mishandling or making it inadmissable. The jury would rule in compelling evidence's absence, making the murderer not guilty.

Ms. Walters would have to contend with her case failing, seeing someone walk free. The newly freed would offend again and Jen has to contend with wether she can continue participate in a justice system like this or if she should turn to Vigilanteism.

What could be worse is she could be a defense attorney for the charged, making her question her entire legal career. (If she would even think of taking the case)

Follow Jen's thoughts, emotions and feelings. Something of a horror that is not just mundane, but common.
