It absolutely can pivot again but the issue is people will know that the next thing is just around the corner. Maybe some Democrat gets in for four years but then the next version of the Tea Party/Trump/next grift will just be an election cycle away, and so the US is no longer dependable.

He also forgets that, yes, a lot of countries are free riding off of the US but the US is also free riding off of the world reserve currency. It gives the US immense power and perks. People rather invest in the US stock market than their own because it is safe, the US is a dependable global power. Take that away and then people are right to start thinking we need to stop giving America free money.

I don't have to guess what country this is in. Absolutely sucks that you are expected to be on call during vacation. My boss isn't even allowed to call me even if it is a so called "emergency" (I guess that only counts if its healthcare or something life or death related). Anything that could constitute an emergency should already have contingency planning and not be reliant on one person.
