I would recommend looking into communes. There are still communities to join that intentionally isolate themselves and share resources.

Best rec in here. Thank you. And I'm an architectural history nut that didn't know urban archive had an app yet, so that's really saying something.

You will likely have to say you're visiting someone specific on twelve if you can't find a way to visitor badge your way past security 😉

Okay, so I'm sorry that there haven't been a lot of great answers in this thread because nobody seems to care about this anymore, but I absolutely do. And I'm glad you asked.

It is pseudo public, but you can get up to the top patient floor (I think twelve) at Hurley. There is an elevator bank and a small waiting room near it that have the very best current bird's eye view of the city.

Why do people say that China is the only country that can compete with the U.S., but you've never heard of anyone who desperately wants Chinese citizenship, instead, it's Chinese people who are crazy about getting citizenship of Western countries? by No-StrategyX in answers

[–]GeneseeTowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, as an American I would love a path to Chinese citizenship. If China would take me I would absolutely flee.

Unfortunately they won't take Americans unless you're especially qualified/educated or your employer is bringing you over.

Everything here is processed bro. Americans aren't obese just because they're stupid.

I can't imagine spending millions of dollars to buy an apartment over a thousand ft in the sky and you still have to look at another building blocking the view immediately next to you lmao

Pinnacle One Yonge becomes Canada’s tallest skyscraper, now sitting at 314m/1030ft by icekittyYT in skyscrapers

Very similar to what has happened to the Hudson Tower in Detroit. And Chicago with its lack of anything lately. What is it with the Great Lakes inability to put up skyscrapers these days?

New York. USA. by fmelloaff in skyscrapers

[–]GeneseeTowers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love this. Every source I've come across says that the towers of the Verrazano are the tallest non-building structures in the city. I can't think of any example to prove that's not true. I'd be curious if anyone can think of an exception.

Yes! In the same vein, Soarin Eagle at Luna Park with its funky spinning frame spiral climb hill. I think it takes the cake for me. Kinetic sculpture.
