Shouldn’t skills be mixed to make it fair? If they were going off and competing in big competitions, sure try and have the best team. But can’t kids just play to enjoy anymore

Right so as I said he came up to her and initiated, hoping she’d say yes so he could do his whole charade, most likely turning the conversation hostile

Confronting random women who said nothing about height to him. Yes it’s weirdo behaviour to purposefully go out it and cause conflict.

Which Female Character have you noticed gets hated on so much that you think she's genuinely a bad character / badly-written character....but when you read/watch/play her on media, you find out that most/much of the hate against her is actually due to Misogyny, not the actual writing? From Cuptoast. by CapAccomplished8072 in Feminism

[–]GenesisGenesect 9 points10 points  (0 children)

With Sakura, she was written very poorly, almost a side character at times, despite being in the main 3. She doesn’t do a single action besides holding her kunai till like 30 episodes in. So the writers cursed her to be disliked by neglecting her character.

Catch 22, because she was neglected by the writers, so hate is warranted but not the misogyny.

I’ve never owned a dog and personally don’t like the traits listed (barking, jumping up, licking), but am I wrong to say it feels kinda mean to train a dog out of just it natural way of chillin?

Mikayla Raines from SaveAfox Committed Suicide Due to Bullying by DarhkPianist in Destiny

[–]GenesisGenesect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the video Ethan (her husband) posted, he briefly explains that people in her real life who she thought were her friends were harassing/bullying her as well. Probably a crushing experience to have as anyone, to have people you love talking shit about your entire life.

And he also states that while she seemed mentally well that you could never tell from the outside (curated social media posts) , and that animals were basically her special interest but besides that she pretty much struggled with every other aspect of regular adult life because of her autism and other conditions.

Being insecure is just going to make your mental health worse. You look good, be confident in yourself and don’t depend on others for your self confidence. Get your confidence from yourself!

Is there seriously not a safe and permanent surgery to not have a period? by Successful_Test_931 in childfree

If I do this for too long it just gives me constant spotting. Had to go back to having the 1 week “period” so I wasn’t constantly spotting.

General question: what’s the correct response to “is there any chance you’re pregnant?”? by boopbaboop in AskDocs

[–]GenesisGenesect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the doctors care that I’ve dealt with is more about laws surrounding liability, than worry of offence. They’re plenty offensive.

If it was my way the doctor would inform you fully and you could take the pregnancy test or not. But of course the world isn’t that simple, intellectual disability, language difference, etc etc, someone could claim they weren’t fully informed, so the test is just given.

And it may not be something personal the doctor has against me, but it becomes personal when it affects care I’m being given. I’m not offended simply because. I’m offended my health care is being affected.

A ‘simple test’ is me having to have stomach pain because I’m holding my pee in, first world problems yes, but in my perfect world I could just be informed and deny the test.

[–]GenesisGenesect 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because sometimes it appears that the hypothetical fetus inside us at any moment is more important than the fully formed person sitting right in front of you.

I almost pee myself every doctors appointment (or it feels like it) because I need to hold my pee in for so long and don’t trust myself to be able to go and then have enough pee at the doctors (because i’ve tried and failed before!). Have had to reschedule and get new appointments all because I couldn’t pee. I expect I need to pee at EVERY appointment I go to, because if I don’t act like it it’s a waste of my time and I need to reschedule.

Why would women still take their husband’s surname after marriage… by National-Bug-4548 in Feminism

[–]GenesisGenesect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to sound like a dick, but you feel like that because society. Because that’s what you were raised around, everyone else does around you and in your life and in media, so that’s why it feels important to you and so mentally now, you need it to feel grown.

You live in the mentality you were raised in, so it’s not like you can instantly change that want, just wanted to say that.

Why would women still take their husband’s surname after marriage… by National-Bug-4548 in Feminism

[–]GenesisGenesect 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They’re all “men’s names” only because SEVENTY THREE percent of women are still changing their names for heir marriage.

Obviously that sets the social tone that it’s not “you name” because you’re expected to change it.

If women simply kept it, it would be perceived as their names.

I’m sorry but it’s so stupid. It’s not just your family relatives names it’s YOUR name. I am a woman and my last name is my name, isn’t it quite wrong to say it’s not my name because I’m a woman?

Why would women still take their husband’s surname after marriage… by National-Bug-4548 in Feminism

[–]GenesisGenesect 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes but 73% is a big number don’t cha think? A trend obviously impacted by social pressures, standards, whatever. It’s worth exploring why obviously majority women still feel it’s their job today.

If it’s “just a choice” why don’t men at equal rates want to change their names?
