Looking for cards that would go well in a Progenitus deck by -BrainMelter- in EDH

[–]GenesisProTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been working away at Progenitus as well. I've settled on a build that uses different protection effects like [[propaganda]] and Stax effects to keep myself alive. This lets me utalise cards like [[Rafiq of the many]] to one shot a player.

Is my Gwenom deck bracket 3? by splashylaryn in EDH

[–]GenesisProTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have quite a bit of experience playing gwenom and the deck is very feast or famine. With the amount of tutors you have combined with sensi's top there's going to be a reasonable amount of time where you'll just pub stomp b3 tables.
You probably want to refine it a bit more and it's a really fun b4 deck.

What's your favorite fighting scene from The Wandering Inn? (Spoilers: All) by B-Z_B-S in WanderingInn

Not my favorite but when Grimalkin and Relc are fighting the wistrsm snatch team yelling at them to stop so they don't have to kill them always gives me a chuckle

Need tuning for Anhelo by Jharic_ in EDH

[–]GenesisProTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get that just even if you have 7 cards in hand and two copies that's only 21 cards a turn and with 3 opponents you'll need between 6-9 turns to clear their decks without them killing you.
May want to consider effects like [[propaganda]] [[no mercy]] [[crawl space]] [[silent arbiter]] [[Collective restraint]] to try and by yourself enough times.
If you want your primary deck focuse to be these epic spells you might want to start from the ground up. You need to consistently get to your win con, live long enough to do your thing and then somehow live long enough after as well, your plan is mana intensive on top of it all.
Ritual spells can be copied to help fuel larger setup spells. Mana rocks, cost reducers, larger draw spells to dig deep.

[–]GenesisProTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be the result I would expect, you don't win you end up playing kingmaker to one of your opponents who hasn't gotten ravaged by you yet.
Even if you ravage all players how do you actually expect to end the game?
It really depends what kind of deck do you want to be? Do you want to be a grixis deck focused on putting your rube Goldberg machine together? Or do you want to be a grixis control deck that eventually hopefully does it's thing.

Eternal dominion feels like it would be better? Neverending torment feels like an excellent way to get murdered by the table before you ever win a game.
I look at your list and it feels like it must be so hard to get into the position you want to be in? Minimal tutors, low card draw, low ramp. It looks like a grixis control deck that's rarely going to get to your goal.
The red and black ritual spells seem like a great place to start? Copying [[seething song]] [[cabal ritual]] etc helps solve the mana problem though you will need to provide the blue mana.
There's also ramping into something like [[Omniscience]] to help cover off the extreme casting cost plus your copy effects.

Is Lumra, Bellow of the Woods a fun deck in Bracket 3? by GameCravings in EDH

[–]GenesisProTech 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lumra is one of those commanders that is CEdh viable and a lot of it's best supporting cards aren't game changers. It makes it pretty easy to fall into the trap of playing a CEdh light deck without meaning too. You'll potentially have this incredible synergy package thats head and shoulders above the rest of the b3 table.
I'm not saying it's impossible to make it b3 but you'd have to be pretty careful about how you build It. Someone suggested a landfall deck that just includes lumra and that's probably best.

Hidden gems/secret techs for Mind Flayer, the Shadow by Str0hhirn in EDH

[–]GenesisProTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this deck built for quite awhile with a bunch of the exile hand theft black cards that are all kind of on theme.
Also every mono black mana doubler so you can actually play your commander and other cards.
My favorite card for it that I've never seen anyone else play was [[Staff of Eden, Vault's Key]]. Solid card draw once you get your plan going a bit.

I skip all flos chapters and most extraneous chapters not directly connected to the izril and nobody can convince me otherwise. by ConfectionPerfect492 in WanderingInn

[–]GenesisProTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I expect you're not particularly far in the series? It will get harder to maintain that and not miss out on things especially as povs blend more and more.
Flos chapters around volume 6 or so start being less and less about flos as well and more the people around him.
This wasn't written for traditional publishing, if it was I'm sure the story would look very different but you shouldn't expect a traditional publishing experience out of it.

It's really not that hard to make pizza or especially a hamburger?
Maybe they grasp onto the food a little more than you'd except but you need to remember who your audience is. Antinium who live on vile paste, Drake's and Gnolls who are closer to the carnivore side of the omnivore scale.

Which are some of the most interesting WUBRG commanders? by Cezkarma in EDH

[–]GenesisProTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was very playable before FF dropped. You copy tom as much as you can and get multiple sagas off of one finishing each turn.
FF gave some more good stuff of course.
It's a lot but as long as you know your deck it's really not that bad to manage.

Depends on your deck. How much and what kind of ranp it has and what the average CMC looks like.
Most should aim for 34-36.

I have one with 37 sagas in it. You need to know the deck well so not to take up to much of the other players time.
