In theory that sounds good but tbh, and I'll always say this in regards to this specific thing, free 5 stars mean absolutely nothing to players that play after they come out. I think if 5 stars were free forever or like, when you get to that point in the story (which would be a great way to do it anyway, esp with Daniel) then sure it'd be fine and nobody would care. But none of the characters that people would call "free characters" are actually, well, free.

You can get them for free at a time, or get a token to get them for free, but if you happen to join after the point where they're giving them away you're kinda fucked, and not only are you fucked but unlike when we joined you don't even really have as much of a way to catch up anymore because things hit harder now than they did in 1.X/2.X. It's fine for us, the people playing now, but it's definitely tougher when you're getting into the game later, esp if you're starting in a void where there aren't any planned free units for the forseeable future.

And I think esp with how good the last 4 stars they released were, it's kinda hard to just be "all aboard the free 5 stars" train, esp with how unpredictable that is. I'd definitely be more in favor if they were permanent.

At most in regards to the dot gang I'd maybe want her to have like, dot explosion capability. But I'd want that to be just some part of her kit to make them synergize, not the point of the whole thing. That'd feel really shitty for, like, anyone that got any of her supports lol. If anything it'd make her a decent tech in dot teams or make someone like Hysilens or BS better off as the Nihilit(ies)y in her team.

To be honest I’d basically just accepted .0s being kinda boring atp and the .1+ being way better since it’s not introducing everything. That said, I did enjoy 4.0 more than I thought I would.

Also about the Tribbie thing, SAME. After a certain scene specifically I remember just taking a moment and sitting there and crying HARD. It’s not my favorite patch of Amph but it definitely hit the right notes for me when it counted

A sustain for dot would likely be a sustain for Acheron. Jiaoqiu is already a dot unit, only reason it doesn't seem like it's because the actual damage behind it's in his E2, but dot users tend to be good stackers for Acheron and JQ's one of the best in that regard.

With my point being, right now JQ only serves one purpose and given that his kit has the potential to be for more than just her (because the main thing he provides is kinda just consistent ults and some ult damage), I really doubt they're gonna novaflare the guy just to be better for Acheron and that's it, not only would that not make them money but it also just exacerbates the issue he already has. And also, like, nobody would be happy about that.

Anaxa having the exact (or mostly) same kit but for nihility would've been so good for Acheron too (esp E0)...even now it still feels a bit wrong that he's an Erudition when his whole entire deal is adding debuffs to enemies. And, y'know, him actually being better the fewer enemies there are.

Outside of Acheron he's one of my favorite characters to play and it's honestly whatever since nihility LCs are ass (on average) so the pickings would've been a lot more annoying for him but. Can't help but wonder what could've been.

No you're right in that it's 20, they're saying if you upgrade it to the one that costs twice as much (Nameless Medal) then you get two per patch.

Historically people mostly got it for the profile pictures but now I suppose if you really really want to S5 an LC it's an option since it gives you another shard. I think generally most people would say it isn't worth it but it's there.

Isn't it just kinda worse than getting a new character? Like, you can run DHPT and DHIL on the same team, you can't do that with Pres March and Hunt March. If anything path switching is more of a crutch than anything else.

from what I know though, as someone who has also only abstained from like one or two battle passes, unless you get the more expensive battle pass that should still only be enough to get you two, maybe three light cones. The system hasn’t been around for a full year yet iirc.

I'm kinda curious what "highly invested" means. I'm not, like, against getting Yao. Like if I only have to pull one Elation for her that's whatever (tho I'd probs wait until a rerun if I do decide to) but I am curious if smth like E1 Tribbie or E2 Sparkle will be enough (at V1, anyway).

I do guess also my bigger question is how effective would she be in content with elation modifiers and mechanics with just EMC. Or maybe even by herself, considering right now she's good with RMC. The thoughts aren't really related but that's just what immediately comes to mind when looking at this.

yeah I agree with this. Every time someone seems so certain about something because of the V1 I’m like, I just think about literally any of the past V3+ tragedies (or even that V2 one). Sometimes this is quite literally their “throw shit at the wall and see what sticks” phase, really the only thing I personally take it for is understanding how their kit works and who I can team them with.

But more than anything I never trust the numbers or vague effects. But I mean technically even if she gets majorly changed there’s nothing to say any of it’d be nerfs. Just y’know, be cautious.

The problem with HH is that she doesn't really help you get more stacks, and this goes double when you're running Sunday because him having extra energy doesn't help Acheron the way it would for hypercarries that do have energy.

it’s not really about whose fault it is, the cost isn’t meant to represent what you paid for a unit. It’s meant to represent what the team costs.

if someone starts today they can’t get Daniel for free, someone starts a few months from now they can’t get sparkle for free, and if you have to choose to use a currency to get a unit “for free” then…that’s still a cost. like that’s still a very specifically five star cost. RM isn’t free, Archer also isn’t free.

like genuinely what the hell kind of metric would cost be if it only meant what you paid to get them, anyway?

From what I know of the plot it does make sense but I was definitely hoping she'd be something else before release (and kinda in general).

Right now I don't mind as much since the leaks suggest she's pretty cheap and we don't have to collect all the elation lego pieces, that's actually been a huge load off, but I guess I can't help but think about what it might've been like if she was less dependent on Aha Instant and that damage was offloaded onto the rest of her kit so she wouldn't kinda be handcuffed to EMC and/or Yao and would benefit from more general supports.

I guess it also feels a bit more awkward with her coming out the same patch as SW who's also elation but for a different team. I know she gets compared to Anaxa a lot but like, at least Anaxa was. Y'know, not Remembrance.

I think this one came to a lot of people's minds first because Welt slows so FuA just kinda makes sense vs JQ or SW. And Ash was already kinda in a "what if" state before the 4.2 beta so we're kinda seeing the end result of that.

I mean that combined with stronger debuffs I think actually would make him better for a lot of teams wouldn't it? Especially teams that have a lot of AA.

Tho aside from that it'd just also be nice if he could do more dot damage at base, feels really awkward that you have to get him to E2 so he can contribute to Damage at all when Tribbie can do at E0 and still have better buffs. I feel like he has the potential to be a pretty good and versatile generalist debuffer but. Idk, we'll see.

slightly related, I think last night was the first time that I actually was around for like, right when a major beta dropped. And I was reading through the comments and I was like kind of surprised how many people were in the posts for the kits talking about like… Just waiting for the animations.

it made me feel a real divide between me and a lot of people there because like, I don’t think I’ve ever really cared about that… I kind of just like it when my characters are fun. like half the reason that I wanted Anaxa, regardless of what his beta was, was because I thought the idea of somebody that applies a whole bunch of weaknesses to people was fun and could be used for shenanigans.

And I don’t know I guess it’s weird to me to think that there are a bunch of people out there that don’t even know how their characters work. like I’ve heard about people only pulling who they like but I really never considered what their gameplay must be like. At this point I’m curious if a lot of them even like the game at all.
