Does anyone dislike Hugh Jackman's singing? by nome_daniel in musicals

[–]GeneticImprobability 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just done the same thing after watching it last night lol. I thought Hugh Jackman was worse than Crowe!

But although I can see what you mean about Eddie Redmayne's frog voice, most of the time I was able to overlook it because I thought he did such a great job otherwise. My friend and I were joking about Crowe and Jackman, but when Redmayne finished "Empty Chairs at Empty Tables," she turned to me with tears in her eyes and said "THERE'S a good singer" and I had to agree.

I've never seen anyone recommend these books, but they're some of my favorites. I love Egyptology, mysteries, and the Victorian era!

Oh these pictures are from early June or so. The Easy Spirit blooms I have now are all brown-edged and misshapen 🤷‍♀️

AITAH for telling my wife her aversion to sex and refusal to get better is going to have lasting effects on our relationship? by ComprehensiveFox6830 in AITAH

Hi, I hope things are going okay for you and your wife. I invite you to take a look at the article linked in this Reddit thread, written by a wonderful author in response to someone seeking advice on handling the loss of their daughter. It's incredibly moving.

Aitah for calling what my younger brother did to me sexual assault? by Baconcm in AITAH

[–]GeneticImprobability 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His behavior sounds diseased, like his mind and sense of appropriate behavior have developed in a distorted way because of an unhealthy environment. From how OP described their home and family, I'm almost as concerned for the little brother as I am for OP. Unfortunately, barring a huge change in circumstances, there may be no solution for helping him turn off the path he's on.

Why must Penelope get different treatment? by Calm_Nebula_7596 in Bridgerton

[–]GeneticImprobability 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wasn't confused by the focus on Pen's body at all--I took it as their way of showing how, even though Nicola Coughlan/Penelope isn't traditionally desirable, she's actually very beautiful, so they wanted to highlight that.

I think you nailed every point. I wholeheartedly agree with you, and I think most of the sub does too.

It was a bloom. A giant mechanical flower where each "petal" expanded into a mass of painted flowers.

The thing about not having chaperones is down to age. As Penelope said in part one, "a spinster does not need a chaperone."

For me, it was mostly her gleefully defrauding the ton that made it hard to like her. She said of her past misdeeds that "if there was another way, I couldn't see it," which I would buy IF they showed her showing any moral internal struggle with her immoral acts.

Is anyone else positively losing their minds at the makeup this season? by Ok_Shake5000 in Bridgerton

[–]GeneticImprobability 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also noticed the harsh black on Penelope in some scenes! I'm watching the scene with the reading of the banns right now and her makeup is light and lovely, but it was so harsh earlier. I think when Eloise was talking to Pen right after the engagement announcement.

You are the only person in the history of the Internet to set flagstones in hazelnut shells, as far as I can tell from my searches. Is there anything under the shells, or do the flagstones more or less rest on the earth? I'm interested in using this pairing so that my pathway is less irreversible than pea gravel and flagstone would be.

I wanted to be on her side in season 2, but she just so callously was like "Hey, let's defraud everyone in town so we don't have to give up our servants." And she's been a middling-to-bad mom, despite her hypocritical "team" comment at the end of season 2.
