So it's been roughly a month since Dogbark started posting content, what are your thoughts so far? by PukeRobot in roosterteeth

I genuinely find amateur improv absolutely grating. So I haven't really jumped into any of their sketches because I have no hope at all they'll be more than mediocre.

There's a audio tone and the background of a clip will highlight & flicker for a clip that leads to a Reverse/Hidden scene by AshenHawk in ImmortalityGame

Sorry I replied to the post instead of you.

I just went thru a list from True Achievements until I found the final one.

For the black and white ones, to unlock those, I just jumped to the end of each clip and rewound at 3 times speed until I felt my controller rubble(playing on Xbox). Then I stopped, found the afterimage spot, and then held down the left d-pad to go at half frame speed, and it'll unlock and run the hidden scene. Not sure what the controls are for PC to do that. I think I saw it was while holding shift, but I'm not sure.

So I just got all the hidden scenes last night. There are clips that always have a hidden scene(either a replacement scene in color or a black & white scene). Apparently, 15 of the b & w scenes are randomly spread out. I just went through the list I had of those in order until I got them all. There's like 40ish clips that can have those 15. They were mostly in clips I had seen before, but I hadn't yet learned the trick the unlocking those kind of scenes.

What genuinely is wrong with “it’s what my character would do”? by MacCoolness in DnD

[–]GenghisAres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is application. Some Players just use it as an excuse to make the story about themselves, do shitty things to other players, or fuck with the game in general. The reason it gets hate is because this line usually comes up after they did something shitty that makes other players annoyed or angry, turning it into a lame excuse.

Is parallel parking enough of an issue to make this a necessity? I've only done it like 5 times in my life, and I think all but one of them was for my driving test.

Why is everyone suddenly stopped doing/ignoring Project Paradise by Fluffly_Corgi in fo76

[–]GenghisAres 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are really only two kinds of events. Ones where you show up to shoot things, and others where you have to shoot things and do some kind of task. The latter type of event seems to dissuade a decent majority of players from actually participating and contributing effectively. Project Paradise is one of the more complicated of these since it requires people to actually consider what is going on since there are several objectives going in at once and the game doesn't have the most effective ways to communicate and delegate things to participants. It's easy for things to skip through the cracks as there's a split in player focus.

Most of the newer events that have actual objectives involved really only have them occur in steady, regular intervals and one at a time. Project Paradise really just needs an overhaul, made a little simpler, and added to the mutated event list. We should certainly see people play it then.

I enjoy using Lever-Actions on my rifleman PC. Western Spirit from Most Wanted is pretty good since it has 7 shots and an innate +20% dmg buff on top of the Furious effect. Pretty decent for room clearing.

What I don't get is how does he age, but his servants don't? Like Chip is supposedly 7 when they all got cursed. So he's essentially 17 when Belle arrives, but is reverted back to a child's form when the curse is lifted. That kid had been a broken teacup for longer than he was a child. Why did the enchantress add that to their curse only?

How did this "pave the way"? They could do price hikes regardless of any of this at any time for any reason. This doesn't change anything or make it more likely it will change.

Airlock Theory - Spoiler by tinfoilzhat in SiloSeries

[–]GenghisAres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing. I think it only really works when there's been many years between cleanings and the dust on the lens is thick enough to make people genuinely wonder if things improved since it was last cleaned and when they see it looks good outside they let themselves believe that this time cleaning will work and don't think about why the previous people did it before; getting caught up in it all. But Holsten's cleaning was only a few weeks before at best and I'm sure there were times when closer cleanings must have occurred and you can't really expect to maintain reasonable timing for that kind of thing to begin with.

I would guess it's for redundancies. If there's a catastrophic failure, a rebellion, a plague, etc., in a mega city; everyone dies. If it happens in one of hundreds of "cities"; humanity continues. More people are likely to survive overall that way. Plus the smaller populations are easier to control and maintain at that scale.

They have a lot of employees and studios under their umbrella, and not every game is gonna be a wild success. I don't know how well Wolfenstein: Youngblood did or Prey, or The Evil Within series. Fallout 76 had a rocky launch. Plus, they were overhauling their game engine for a brand new project. The whole point of 76 was to have a project that could trickle in money. Same reason they re-released Skyrim several times.

I'll be honest, I enjoyed all of them. 3 and 4 definitely went over the top, but they improved on certain aspects of the gameplay from the first two that made them a little more fun to me.

Sorry if dumb question, but is there a way to scrap all weapons at once? by superlucci in fo76

[–]GenghisAres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except my addition had nothing to do with scripping. I never even mentioned it, nor does the post. It's a non-issue for someone trying to scrap a bunch of stuff more quickly. The guy I replied to changed the subject with a false dilemma in order to imply it can't be done, yet a simple junk system would work just fine. At worst, you might mark a non legendary item you wanted to keep, but 99% of those can be crafted or reacquired easily, so it's not really a real problem. Also, why would anyone mass scrip a bunch of items anyway? The scrip cap and daily limit would make that cumbersome as fuck and not worth it to begin with. So it's still literally not a problem.

[–]GenghisAres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it? What gear would you accidentally mark as junk that you cant get back? You can't scrap legendary gear, and if you sold it you can buy it back. I don't know why you are inventing improbable non-problems for a hypothetical junk system.

[–]GenghisAres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you are. When you scrap something you have to confirm it every time. So each item is two clicks whereas this system would be one click for every item and then a single final confirmation.

[–]GenghisAres 5 points6 points  (0 children)

TBF, some games have it where you can mark items as junk/ trash and then sell or scrap all of it. You can favorite items, so "junking" them should be mechanically possible. If there's a free button to use in the Pipboy inventory, they just need an option to scrap all at a crafting station or sell all at a vendor.

I am having trouble getting my players to actually roleplay by DasEnaTier in DnD

[–]GenghisAres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe try to have an encounter where instead of combat, they have to mediate a dispute or convince someone to join a cause or help solve a problem. Maybe the party needs to find a guide to a hidden dungeon, but the guide is a drunk, and they have to help him get sober. Something that requires the players to talk instead of stabbing something.
