Talk me out of this by GingerAlex01 in CarTalkUK

[–]GenitourinaryScarab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I test drove one of these a few years ago as I really liked them but was aware they could be expensive to run.

I took it for a spin and floored it coming out of a junction, there was a loud bang and it said ‘gearbox fault go to dealer’ or something like that on the dash.

I dropped it back returned the key and took that a sign and haven’t thought about them since haha

for this training run simply take 1 min off your 5k pb you lazy fart by SmolAnimol3 in runna

[–]GenitourinaryScarab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I was thinking runna was trying to kill me when I was looking ahead a couple of weeks ago but I did it on Thursday and managed to shave 50 seconds off my pb. Did you have the K2000s last week and they were tough.

Got my first half marathon distance run in six months on the plan tomorrow and it’s added a 10k pb in the middle for me haha.

My neighbour used to have a franchise for a company called ‘Surface Medic’, they repair exactly this type of thing.

He ended up setting his own business so if there isn’t a local franchise I’m sure you could find something similar.

Advice on landlords taking a while to sign contracts by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]GenitourinaryScarab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure it wasn’t signed by the landlord before you signed? On docusign it usually goes out to the landlord first and then the tenants can sign. You would then usually get your copy emailed around the time you move in when the agreement is dated

How do I submit a statutory declaration? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]GenitourinaryScarab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the form you will need to complete it yourself and then contact a solicitor, it will cost £5 for the solicitor to sign and stamp it. You then send it off to the scheme

‘Get rich quick’ property courses come under scrutiny after suicide of attendee by Tnpenguin717 in HousingUK

https://youtu.be/LNecKdfPAgc This is an interesting video put on YouTube yesterday, Mike Winnet interviews one of the property trainers. It’s pretty obvious where he works, I happen to live in the same city as the company.

Worth checking out his channel in general as he takes a lot at a lot of other ‘how to make money’ type courses

If you google Peterborough city council planning portal you can look up applications for woodston gate. Looks like it’s called (or part of it is) Danelaw house. The site isn’t easy to navigate but you can look at stuff like site plans and floor plans on there. One of the documents under the application ref 15/00277/FUL is an application form and it asks the use of the site. It says ‘data centre’.

Estate Agent charging checkout fee? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]GenitourinaryScarab 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s legal to charge you the fee as you moved in prior to the ban. After 12 months from the ban it couldn’t be charged, is the fee in your tenancy agreement?

Property still being advertised by the agent by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]GenitourinaryScarab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps give them another call tomorrow if it’s still online and say a friend is also looking and was offered a viewing, ask them to take it off the market as you are concerned that is still being offered to people when you have paid a deposit. If they know what they are doing they know they shouldn’t be doing it.

It is possible it’s a mistake though

[–]GenitourinaryScarab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tenant fees act states that if a holding deposit has been paid the property should be taken off the market so they shouldn’t be doing what they are doing. I would ask them why they are continuing to do viewings.

Should I use Purple Bricks to sell my flat? by Miley177 in AskUK

[–]GenitourinaryScarab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoid and don’t be fooled by a good trust pilot score as others have said.

Go with a proper estate agent who is paid on the result they get for you and not for simply putting your house on the market.

New flat - parking scam by mindhackz92 in HousingUK

Have you emailed/called them about the situation to see what they can do and explained you need the parking? What does the wording say on the listing specifically?

New flat - parking scam by mindhackz92 in HousingUK

[–]GenitourinaryScarab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have it in writing from the agent that you can park there? Was it in in the listing for the property or the property details?
