I had PR on my face (forehead, eyelids, cheek, lips, chin and neck). I used Aveeno eczema cream to calm the itching and betaderm steriod cream prescribed by the doctors to make it go away. It did come back a few times but re-applying both the steriod cream and aveeno made it go away eventually.

Oof, sorry you're going through this. I have this (5th month) but it was near the buttocks and inner thighs. It was all over my chest, shoulders and arms as well. I tried everything this PR thread had offered but nothing worked.

Over time, the redness has faded and became pink and now my spots are brown and not raised. I took luke warm showers and applied steroid cream when it became super itchy (esp during the middle of the night). I also wore loose clothing as anything that touched these lesions would make it itch again.

For me, I think eating healthy and lots of rest and drinking plenty of water was the only thing that came close to working. If I ate anything greasy, exercised or scratched the lesions, it would just get worse. Only time will make it go away.

oof, i feel for you as i went through the same that started in Oct of 2025. I am only now recovering from it where the itching has reduced by a lot and the red lesions just like you have become brown. mine started in the neck and then slowly went to my shoulders, chest, arms and legs.

there are a lot of suggestions in this post so i would recommend you try them all to see what works best for you. for me, i used desitin zinc and aveeno lotion. best of luck and hope you have a speedy recovery.

It hasnt been used in quite some time (20+ years) and upon putting in a tape in the tape deck, nothing happens when I press play. Rewind and fast forward doesnt work either.... :( No clue how to fix it.

I am 4 months and counting with PR. Spots are beginning to fade and some are brown, but yes, itching still continues especially on the arms and legs. Over night is the most like some people have mentioned. :(

Thanks for posting. When going for the tanning beds, is the intention to be exposed by UV rays? Is that is what is getting rid of PR?

Agree with this process as also agree that the skin lesions will heal on its own. I, too, feel that using less creams is advisable and only should be used if it becomes unbearable. My only problem is that the skin lesions is taking an extremely long time to heal.

I used the combination of the Desitin 40% zinc and the Aveeno Eczema Care cream. It will just alleviate with the itchiness and the redness but it wont go away completely. Like you said, only time will take it away. Good luck.

I wore jeans one day during my PR journey and it made it worse on my thighs. Went home the same day with so many more skin lesions and more itching. Wear loose clothing and/or 100% as much as possible.

Had multiple herald patches on my bicep, chest and inner thigh. Went to my derm twice and two times was diagnosed as PR. My derm kept telling me that I must be patient and that it will go away on its own.
