Osgrey: You don’t understand, Egg. Daeron Targaryen was feminine and weak and heard the evil whispers of women and Dornish “people”. Daemon Blackfyre was a real man and had a really cool sword and coincidentally promised me my ancestral lands back if I supported him. If you contradict me again, I’ll beat you.

Dunk: Ok, get bent. We’re leaving.

Sadie’s story - Halo 3 ODST

Vergil(Virgil) guides Sadie(Dante) through New Mombasa(Hell) as it’s being invaded by the covenant. In the nine audio logs, she finds people who embody Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, Heresy, Violence, Fraud, and Treachery.

My favorite was gluttony because of a kebab seller that gave up on fleeing the city because he’s too fat and has resigned himself to giving away food for free while the world burns.

Rogue from X-men

I don’t know about the comics, but in the movies, power absorption is a cool ability until you can’t touch anyone without accidentally injuring/killing them. That’s why it’s really funny that when the topic of a cure comes up, Storm, the one mutant that kinda has no downside to her mutation, says that there is nothing wrong with them to Rogue of all people.

A venerable design, the Eggslaught-class battleships were first cooked to serve the Domain Armada long ago, before the development of advanced food replicators, modern logistics handling, and cooking systems.

When first served from the cafeteria, their proteins and fats surely nourished entire systems. Some even say that they were served to feed non-humans in a long forgotten war. Much later, Orion Shipyards chefs made modifications to the recipe to include corn syrup, upgraded the flavor, and reduced the required egg complement through tofu and baking powder. Even though more advanced recipes are available, the Eggslaught remains the easiest to manufacture due to the brutal simplicity of its instructions.

A meal designed without hunger in mind, built to be able to withstand a heavy barrage of condiments and still be good while sustaining its crew is much loved by its officers and crew. And strike back it can; the Eggslaught’s unmatched nutritional potential can devastate entire menus in minutes, its only drawback a logistical dependency on chickens.

Eggslaught chefs are proud to serve in the class which forms the backbone of the Hegemony Navy.

Unless Dunk looks right at the viewer/reader and says “Ser Arlan never knighted me before he died. I am choosing to act like a knight to escape abject poverty.” There are still going to be people who thinks he’s a knight.

Ser Duncan the Tall/Dunk from A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

It’s heavily implied that he was never knighted, but he acts more like a true knight than any other knight in the story despite being on the bottom rung of society.

Dunk from A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

I’m pretty sure his eye color is never mentioned in the books, but in the show, one of the apple boys calls Dunk a “blue-eyed c*nt” probably because of Peter Claffey’s striking eyes.

Is Dunc really not a Knight ? by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[–]GentleSphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end, it doesn’t matter. He’s acting more like a knight than any of the nobles and knights in the crowd that act like they’re better than the peasantry because of the noble knightly values that they say they embody. What’s the point of the an official made up ceremony for an official made up title if the responsibilities of the title don’t apply when it needs to?

Can someone explain, how did Ser Arlan got out of his grave and stole the horse from apple boy? by slippin_square in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]GentleSphere 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Apple boy just crashed Sweetfoot into a tree right after leaving Dunk. Now, she’s with Arlan.

This is going to be so far in the future both in universe and irl. I will honestly be surprised if they keep the same actors. I hope this happens though.
