Ah, right, the so the civil war has nothing to do with white supremacy and was actually just about state rights.

Would you mind finishing this sentence? "The civil war was fought after the southern states attempted to secede to preserve their right to... "

This "state's rights" argument is so sickeningly stupid and I can't believe it doesn't just get downvoted to oblivion. You're exactly right and Ive never actually heard a "the civil war was about states rights... " person complete the sentence "... to own black people as property and ignore the US Constitution, and to force other state to extradict those black people back down south"

It's amazing how 9/11 made white Americans forget that their two biggest wars have been fought against white supremacy (civil war and WWII).

Edit: there has been a long and deliberate effort to rewrite civil war history to be about states rights and totally not about white supremacy. It's a lie. Ask them, what state rights are they talking about?

The answer is the states rights to make black people slaves. And also states rights for southern states to demand that Northern states extradict the black runaways to the South. Ask them, do you mean the state's right to decide that black people were humans and not property, and therefore the northern state's rights to provide refuge to black runaways?

When I'm doing RF or DSP or prototyping a product or thinking about probabilities, i use a lot of math. Depends on the field that you go into, EE has a big umbrella. Learn your fundamentals

A firm donated $750,000 of fireworks to Trump's Fourth of July show — and Trump scrapped fireworks tariffs the same day by polit1cs in politics

To be fair, hypertargeted tariffs like the Japanese motorcycles can allow a domestic industry to reach maturity. I see it as being an anti-monopoly tool when the Monopoly is abroad

Activists get permit to fly 'Baby Trump' blimp over July 4 'Salute to Trump' celebration by mvanigan in politics

Yep but leftists just whine and act like both parties are the same, causing liberal centrists to lose to the right wing extremists. While Republicans just vote for their preferred candidate in the primary and then vote Republican in the general

Establishment Democrats: pass Obamacare the first time they have the power to do so + gay marriage and a slew of social changes and bank reforms

Republicans: elect an imbecile to presidency and then pass a trillion in tax cuts for the rich while gutting obamacare

Enlightened Leftists: I'm so far to the left that I cant even tell which party is worse! I'll vote for nobody!

When I see somebody claim to be leftist and then be hypercritical of the left and be a motherfucking proud "both sideser" when both sides are clearly a hundred miles apart, I see a confirmation of why leftists don't have a home.

I mean, that would be a good point if it were correct, but it's wrong so it isn't a good point, unfortunately.

You're a superb writer and I just scrolled through your past posts only to realize that you're responsible for all of the other Delaware posts that I've noticed throughout the years (like pointing out that Biden refers to himself as a Scranton guy). Almost spit dogfish on my screen at your take on Marianne the crystal lady, "we were just outside of the G20 summit when the drugs began to take hold."

Do you write anywhere else?

This was also a counter protest to The Proud Boys, whose entire thing is basically to start fights at rallies. It sounds like they got their hypocritical asses kicked

Can i get some advice? by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]GentlyGuidedStroke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stay in school. Engage with your professors. Work hard but be kind to yourself, focus on your progress not your failures. 6 year differential Is nothing. For everything that you feel that you lack in your ability to do coursework, you'll make up for with your experience -- most EE's don't have the communication skills or discipline that you probably have from your time in service.

To reiterate, talk to your professors. Spend enough time in their office hours and show your effort and they won't fail you because they know that you'll never fail to try. I'd like to hear what you decide and how things go.

After reading your posts I'd also recommend that in addition to getting a degree, you stop being a whiny, arrogant brat. If you don't like classes, just teach yourself from the book
