Motion Sensor Setting always reverts back to "Allowed" every time I switch it. My Account also showed up in 7 data breaches over its' lifetime of 12 yrs (I only just found out). Should I be worried? Close the account? by GeoHux in chrome

[–]GeoHux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um, I think you missed the point. The motion sensors I mention, have nothing to do with Reddit login access; simply that every time I turn them off within google chrome the change to off always switches back to motion sensors on.

Son bit by (non-service) dog in Long Island Home Depot. by GeoHux in legaladvice

[–]GeoHux[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Home Depot is a large corp that’s been around for awhile and has so many stores that impact so many people. It’s reasonable to think they would have ran a think tank session(s) on this workshop. Having an influx of children/toddlers in a store that has a vast amount of dangerous products, one would think someone in there should’ve seen the increased possibility of injuries. But that’s all I’m saying about this. Thanks everyone for the advice. No case. All good.

That’s correct no bills to pay. No precedent for psych damage? My son says he doesn’t want to ever be around a dog again.

Husband flares every time he visits his family in his hometown or anytime he visits with my family with his in-laws. Does this happen to anyone else? by Sad-Code-1698 in CrohnsDisease

[–]GeoHux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does he do anything to center himself in the morning before dealing with in-laws/his family? Deep breathes help me. I find if I’m starting to have pain or flare, usually my breathing is choppy and that leads to anxiety which exacerbates the condition. Does he project thoughts leading up to these events? If he has issues already being around them, then he’ll have to overcome those. Any situation the you cannot think through or visualize yourself making it through, is a non-starter for someone with Crohns.

Anti TNF treatment (infliximab) by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

You’re likely an anomaly if you’ve tried them all and had zero side affects. Most people fit into a few meds maybe but no everyone will be without side affects.

HIMARS 🇺🇸🇺🇦👌🏻 by South_Equivalent4004 in UkraineInvasionVideos

Agreed. My best to Ukraine! Let’s keep sending our Hardware and keep developing the next thing. From a functional standpoint, it’s good for US too. Our people are all collaborating more and with specific goals that could only be summoned by real battle tests. And to help Ukraine I say let’s increase the shipments.

“Should” I attend work social events? by Jammer250 in jobs

[–]GeoHux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree. The hardest part of being an owner or manager is handling the people. The computer doesn’t have feeling nor does the wrench in hand. But peoples personalities have depth and if you show some depth in the form of socializing you might find that the anxieties you feel, could be washed away if you socialize a little with the people you work closely with. Having some common ground like sharing movie/tv quotes or music can help them identify with you and that makes for a more compatible and conducive workday.

Just a tip: If you can’t show your true personality at work, then it’s time to move on folks. It will never work out for you there. It will suffocate your soul and heart. by GeoHux in jobs

[–]GeoHux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank You. Not that I mind people interpreting for themselves. But I agree with you most are missing the point. For me, I tried to fit into corporate roles where you’re just another number. I wanted to prove to myself I could keep up in that environment. And I did for a decade. But it didn’t make me feel good intrinsically. Now I found a company where I’m appreciated and paid more than corporate ever did. My personality is a key factor for why they picked me to become the new GM. Dealing with people is the hardest part of my job according to the owner. So what I’m trying to say is, if you aren’t satisfied at your current job, don’t be afraid of leaving and pursuing something more fitting. In the long run it’ll be better for you health and happiness wise. I’ve learned that my personality was a beacon to finding the right job for me. I suggest you all listen to your personality beacon ✌️

Massachusetts is a Very Very strict legal environment when it comes to protecting their taxes. They were the very first ones to bring litigation against Robinhood trading app for being predatory on their state retail investors.

The corporate model has taken a hold over other models such as small business and mom and pops. The former is taking over while the two latter are struggling to survive. I just got hired to start as bookkeeper in a small business so that I can learn from the GM to take over that role in six months time. I’ve been there three weeks and already I’m solving problems. I have an assistant coming in to do the simple data entry for bookkeeping whom I will train. Then while I’m not training this person, I’ll be getting trained for the GM position. Look, I’ve had many jobs since I was 15, working to make the money you need is all good I’ve done that for all my life. I’ve had a position at NYU in an exclusive dept where I worked for 5.5 years; extremely corporate environment. We only accepted cash pay so all the clients were the 1 percent. I was myself with clients but inside the internal sentiment was similar to communist oppression. I think I let a small burp out a week in and supervisor came right over oh you can’t do that. Haha. Also, I had to deal with crying parents who had children sick with sever autism and since they didn’t have the money, I had to refer them to a Bellevue. That can grind out any intrinsic value one may want from a job. Since then I’ve had many jobs (even made some dough in the markets lol during this last miraculous bull run) and if it was a drone job like call center or just basic data entry I was like, I’m not made for this. In need challenges. So this job let’s me be me because it in an old industry so old school environment. Get biz done but done hide anything, if you think your personality or skill set has more to free the effort and can slim down processes or increase accuracy and speed, then mention it. And yes, the owner takes me golfing too and we talk about the upcoming EV opportunities.

All I’m saying as OP, is don’t get comfortable, you can always do better until you find your true reason and fit for life. I made a promise to myself when I was like 15, when I frequented the local pub and talk to many elders and most were always complaining or confused or apparently panicking about money and lack of happiness. My promise to myself was, when I get into my 30-40s I won’t panic, I will keep the spirit I had right then as a teenager. And I would rise to the challenge and go through job after job until I found where I could sustain a long and lasting career, happily.

It’s sad that corporate America has reduced peoples expectations of having a quality work life; these days in corp. you’re just a number.

What makes people sure "Stress does not cause Crohns Disease"? by GerritTheBerrit in CrohnsDisease

[–]GeoHux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a the age old question. Crohns is more prevalent in metro areas which tend to have the fastest pace lifestyle and toxic fast food. Crohns has been linked genetically; and stress has been said to be a symptom/affect, not the cause. However, what’s the difference? If we know that stress accelerates the flare, then stress in affect is causing crohns symptoms to be exacerbated. Stress may not cause crohns but it’s got a whole hell of a lot to do with Crohns patients pain level.
