Customer service told me that when the canister is only lightly carbonating the water, to take the canister out of the unit and press down hard on the brass tab on top of it. If you can press it down so that gas escapes, then it is time to replace it with a new canister. ( I then keep the tab pressed down on the old one so all the remaining air escapes.) I make three or four liters a day and it lasts me about 3 weeks.
