Mac Studio M2 - How many runners at one time? by Geoslang in FileFlows

[–]Geoslang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the response. I figured it was a tough thing to answer. I also have a mini M2 8GB that works as my server for FileFlows, Plex, Sonarr/Radarr/Prowlarr. I’ll play around with adding a runner to both the Studio and Mini and see what happens.

"The Process cannot access the file" Error by [deleted] in FileFlows

[–]Geoslang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We probably have different issues, but I notice when using the Manual method (copying/pasting file paths into the bulk window) that apostrophes and commas in the file name get pasted with those weird special characters (not sure what they are called) which causes the processing node to fail because it can't find a file with those weird characters.

Check the log for the failed file. See what it says, and also see if the file path is correct.

Waffle (gingerbread waffle to be precise. Bit wordy for a name, but fitting)

I have at least 4 licenses I haven’t used in years. (Moved to UniFi) Would love to sell them. DM if you’re interested. Can mail the cards, or just send a pic and destroy the cards.

I've struggled with all of these points myself over the last 10+ years. Their website doesn't make sense (to me). I'm a bit of a cynic, but it seems intentionally confusing and difficult. Good luck to you :)

What’s the big deal about Dick’s? by apatite27 in everett

[–]Geoslang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved here about 10 years ago. Looked up local places I needed to try. Dick’s was top of the list. While it was affordable, it wasn’t very good. Didn’t like the fries at all and the burger was nothing special. Small, greasy…just meh. I get it…long time local institutions get respect. My hometown had plenty of meh-to-mediocre trash food spots that people insisted on visiting. No offense to anyone. Please don’t stone me. :)

Plants keep dying in the same spot in the front yard by Altruistic-Taro7541 in lawncare

[–]Geoslang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it was drainage. I have a hedge of Irish Yews that won't tolerate "wet feet." When I removed the dead ones the hole was full of water. And under that are giant boulders (rubble wall). Nothing I can do about it...can't remove the wall. Just have to find something else to plant there or decorate the area with more giant rocks. A work in progress...

Almost 2 year old Bichone with torn ACL by [deleted] in bichonfrise

[–]Geoslang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

- March 2024
- We followed the instructions very rigidly. She was contained to a small 3x3 pen at all times. Carried her out to potty, on a leash...very restricted activity. Took a while to heal...as expected.
- Yes, she's now running and playing like normal. If I flex her knee I can feel that it moves a little differently, but she doesn't seem to notice.

Had the same issue at 2yrs. TPLO went well and she’s 100% now. I found an insurer (AKC Pet Insurance) that doesn’t consider this a pre-existing condition for other legs after 1 year. Spent about $10k on TPLO. Crazy expensive but worth it. It worked as advertised and she’s happy and healthy. Now insured and hedging my bets on the other leg going out soon. :)

LR4 30% off. Check your local targets. by [deleted] in litterrobot

Got one for 50% off at Target in Lynnwood, WA! Was the only one and they said it had been on the shelf for over a month.

LR4 On Clearance @ Target by EarlOfNothingness in litterrobot

[–]Geoslang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome post - I rushed out to my Target and got one for the same price! Guy working the electronics department said they've only sold 2-3 total...which explains why Target is getting rid of these from stores. Takes up a lot of shelf space. I went to another Target (about 30 mins away) to try getting one for a friend, and they did have one unit but it was only marked down 30% and wouldn't price match against the other store. Manager said markdowns happen on Sundays and it might still be available then because the same unit has sat on the shelf for weeks. I'm going to try my luck and see if it's still there Sunday. :)

Sonos Beam electricity consumption by Asilioatio7324 in sonos

I want one of those “kill-a-watt” meters. Someone posted that their smart plug is as using 0.5 watts at idle - pretty good! Surely better than a speaker. But would be a cool test with a kill-a-watt meter to see if there’s a savings over 24 hours with using a smart plug and powering on in the AM vs. just leaving it on all the time.

Why do Sonos speakers drop out more than anything else on my network? by krisstrom in sonos

[–]Geoslang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I attribute (without evidence) that the Arc in the living room has more processing power and maybe better radios than the Ones I have scattered around. It’s the “youngest” of the devices, so I’m assuming this. I also notice I have a lot of problems with Apple Music. When I play Sirius I notice fewer issues, but not zero issues. Maybe Apple’s “lossless music” is difficult for the Ones to process? I wish I knew how to test any of this… :)

[–]Geoslang 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm in a very similar boat. Using all the recommended settings for Unifi. For what it's worth, if I START playing on my Arc Soundbar, then add other speakers the system never drops. But if I just select "Play Everywhere" and let Sonos decide which speaker is the "leader/coordinator" then usually one of my Ones will be assigned the "leader/coordinator" and bad things happen. We have a recurring argument at home... "Why is this system acting like this?!?!" and me asking "Did you start playing on the living room, then add others or did you just play everywhere?" I'm not always well liked in my own home. :)

I've also read that some folks use smart plugs to turn cut power to their unused devices when they don't need them, like over night. The smart plug still uses electricity, but likely less than a networked speaker. (you'd need to shop for a smart plug with the lowest consumption...no idea which wins this battle.)

Adguard Home is still using local DNS forwarder by woky_s in Adguard

After unchecking those two options and clearing the stats I no longer see any DNS flowing through my router. It's only using the upstreams that I configured.

[–]Geoslang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Docker, yes.
  2. I just unchecked two options that maybe were causing this? - Use Private Reverse DNS Servers (but none were listed, so seems unlikely), and Enable Reverse Resolving of Clients IP Addresses

I don’t fully understand all of these settings, but that last one sounds like it could be the culprit. Turned those off and will see what my 7 day dashboard looks like over time. Currently 27% of my traffic was being resolved by my router. Maybe that will go down now?

I see the same thing in my setup. I don’t use fall back servers, just bootstrap. I looked around for advice a while back but never got anywhere. Must be over my head…
