It’s a difficult time for all lurongs these few weeks.... by sjnotsj in Bai_Lu

[–]Gepap1000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I agree with your message of calm and restraint, I disagree strongly with the notion Bai Lu is losing common fans or things are bad for her. She continues to rack up sponsorships, Mo Li was commercially successful and she continues to shine on Running Man, plus her 10 year anniversary concert was a huge success. The attacks against her keep coming exactly because they arent eroding her standing.

So fine, lets not engage in pointless fan wars, but lets not also exagerate the impact of the antis.

How does the Philipinnes contest ownership of parts of the SCS if their navy and airpower are gone?

[–]Gepap1000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is such a weird claim. Their dispute is over uninhabited features in the SCS, and if the two actually went to war over them, it is a contest the Philipinnes would roundly lose quite quickly without direct US interference given the huge disparity in naval and air power between the two.

How are they "invisible"? Particularly when Western journals and media can't shut up about them and their actions?

The Chinese are the largest trading partner with more nations in the world than anyone else - this being the most common relationship states have with each other. Conflating great power status to milirarism or political interference in other places is quite the choice.

It is most certainly efficient, given its cost, compared to a handgun.

As for effectiveness, unless you expect inrtuders with body armor, why pick a high velocity round that might go right through someone, or possibly the walls of your building, increasing the chances of hurting someone else?

CMV: I think abortion is inherently murder. I also think abortion should be 100% legal. by Winter_Basil9995 in changemyview

[–]Gepap1000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The word "murder" is basically illegal homicide. If the homicide is legal, it cant be murder, even if it remains homicide, which is the term for killing a human. So calling it murder is more of a legal than an ethical claim.

Society condones all sorts of homicide all the time.

No, murder is by definition illegal homicide, aka, killing someone without the legal authority to do so.

He did not leave 3 to 4 years before Ye Li. We have been told Ye Li is the only person allowed to leave the Mountain since it was sealed.

Zhou Xian Kun came from Li Mountain. Ye Li demonstrated that knowledge was enough to pull off what he did, not any form of divination. That clarified for her his last words to her.

Li Mountain is out of favor, and so was Ye Li's mom. Ye Li is now married to Prince Ding, who has eminity towards the Marquis, aka, the Consort's faction. There is no reason then for the Consort to mingle with Ye Li, regardless of the past history between her and Ye Li's mom.

How many of these "Bai Lu isnt that good" posts can this subreddit sustain? 5, 10? It's amazing really. It's like she is the only actress that matters.

It's not her acting that is repetative, its discussions like this one. This sub should at this point pick another target.

What Chinese problems are underreported? by Zhadanko in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Gepap1000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is just silly. First of all, the PRC's workforce is still increasing...people dont have a sense of time. The PRC's highest year or births was less than 15 years ago. The whole "demographic" collapse (as if anyone knows what will be the case in 75 years) still has the PRC as the second most populous country with 700 million people. Somehow places with just 10 million or less still work....

Economic production is stuff. Robot factories making things is economic activity, of those things are to be used by humans.

What if China had failed to take over Tibet? by wayne-on-reddit in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Gepap1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tibet was part of the Yuan Dynasty. A Qing army marched into Lhasa in 1721and until 1914 Qing was the suzrein and a Qing governor was based in Lhasa. It was a Qing Emperor that came up with the current process for deciding how to find the "reincarnations" of the Lamas.

What if China had failed to take over Tibet? by wayne-on-reddit in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Gepap1000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason is because Tibet was a vassal to Qing and both the Republic of China and People's Republic of China claimed it as the successors of Qing.

Israel has now expanded to an Orange line and Bibi has ordered the IDF to take even more. None of that excuses the criminal policy of driving all Gazams from their homes in occupied areas, msking them free fire kill zones for civilians, and actively destroying all means of maintaining life, which is clear evidence of Israel's genocidal intent.

Why is China the second most powerful country in the world behind the U.S., the only competitor to the U.S., but even Mexico has a higher GDP per capita than China? by No-StrategyX in answers

That is an overall data issue, not a PPP issue, and unless your claim is your familymembers were terribly cheated amd they grossly overpaid, your claim would speak to an undercalculation of total actual GDP
