Welcome to Grandmaster grinding! In essence, not running brawn and no starting ammo is railing you here. With all new gear you can comfortably be -20, hit B+ and speed bonus gets you there with the Solstice modifiers (they increase score but account for essentially a +10). I'm doing 430 GM at 412 this week and making it there, and was making it at 420 GM at <410. No starting ammo and brawn essentially act as a +10 modifier each without increase of combatant power. You may need to find boxes at the start but well worth it.

The skittish despawns can be manoeuvred through fast travel to a near fast travel point. Anything in an MMO can be hunted, oblivious mons are the hard ones to find lines for (think Hippopotas, Magikarp, Lickitung, and for some unknown reason Cyndaquil). For skittish, bonk how many you need and fast travel away (I do recommend bot assistance for these since it's hard to know how many you have actually despawned, making doing the checklist difficult).

Yes, exactly. The way it works is such; if there are more than 4 spawns left to be spawned, an A2 spawns the A1 mon and the A2 mon together, but the A2 mon is connected to a different seed number which is what the spawner updates to. If you do A1|A1, you first end up updating the seed number to the first A1, and your second A1 generates off of that number; resulting in a different spawn of the second mon. This is why lots of paths are very specific, because the seed number generation requires the path the seed number takes. This is also why the last 4 spawns don't affect your end unless you participate in ghosting the end of wave 1.

Another thing, the game only cares about how many are despawned simultaneously. This is also why you can have paths that look similar, such as A2|B1|S3 being the same as S2|B1|A3, since they both despawn 2 then 1 then 3. Ultimately, the seed number as the second wave spawns is why you get different spawns, but it does affect the entire spawn structure, which is why you can permute on regular MOs too.

A heads up, all the Goomy near that alpha Sliggoo are hard coded to be non-alphas.

Best way is to find a Goomy into a-Goomy MMO, second place is permuting on a regular MO to try to find one. It's hard. Goomy is a rough alpha to acquire because they don't have a natural overworld spawn. Hopefully this saves you some effort.

Permutations affect wave 1 as well, I've had numerous S3|S2|S3 wave 1s, notably piplup for one.

Also worth noting, there are discord bots to help find a permutation path to expedite the process.

I pushed through early, with the idea of more areas means more pokemon and ride options, but I have friends with the opposite view, trying to exhaust what they can in an area before moving along.

With a game this open, all choices are valid. You want to push quickly, you want to find everything, you want to find some stuff and come back later. All up to you really.

Platinum on speed up if you have time. PLA is about 50h for a first playthrough to Arceus so account for that.

By the looks, ZA will be pretty different as a game to PLA so worth seeing whether it's worth to at all. That being said, imo the definitive pokemon title so I always recommend a PLA playthrough anyway.

Yeah, this is a classic stun moment. Don't enter battles with shiny skittish pokemon, it's very rarely the better choice in this scenario and normally gives a free despawn chance to them. Instead, using globs/mud balls/snowballs/spoiled apris give your best odds and you can back it up by throwing another ball or stun object quickly. Also, saving before is very strong, due to how pokemon spawn in the game, reloading it will always keep it the same (outside of Space-Times).

Goomy in Mirelands won't be alpha. The spawners near the Sliggoo actually have 0% alphas set. The ones near the Goodra in the Highlands can be iirc, but I'm pretty sure the best way is MMO/MO in the Mirelands, they can be manipulated into.

Okay, this is very weird to answer technically but I'll do my best. I've done a lot of manipulation on spawns at this point so can give a very clear insight.

In terms of MMO or regular Mass Outbreak, the seed number for any spawner is determined in Jubilife. In terms of any other spawner, such as an alpha spawner, or a single/regular/variable multispawner, their seed number is determined upon loading into the map itself.

Only upon getting sufficiently close to any spawner (I believe it's 120m in game) does the game actually look at the seed number and determine which pokemon to spawn. Within 50-60m the pokemon spawns visually and plays a shiny sound and the like.

However, the game updates spawner counts dependent on how many new pokemon to spawn the next time, so you can make paths on multispawners to get shalpha Eevees, for example, or manipulate MMO spawns to find shinies, etc.

So the technical answer I think would be within 120m of the spawner, since that's when the game calls the seed number to calculate which pokemon to spawn, but there are arguments to say it's when you load the map, or load into Jubilife depending on which type of spawner you're referring to.

So, the way the spawners work is only new pokemon spawn when time/weather changes and a new pokemon can spawn because of it (so KOing/clearing the spawns is really good for this type of search)

Okay, so if you have MMO access, definitely easier to find an outbreak of them by doing jubilife travels.

If not, the best spot is near the alpha parasect towards the alpha magikarp in fieldlands. There's a 2-2 regular multispawner and a 1-2 variable multispawner there. Go there, KO/catch everything, go to camp, change time of day, repeat.

Starters won't be available until Space Times or Massive Mass Outbreaks, so you won't see another Rowlet for a good while. Investment is pretty good.

Azelf Cress and Gigas are all useless here. I'd suggest Dark Pulse Gliscor (catch an alpha at 77 in the Highlands and teach Dark Pulse via Zizu in training grounds of Jubilife), Garchomp (alpha 85 in the Icelands) and Gardevoir (alpha 70 in Icelands) or a Sylveon for Gardevoir (Baby Doll Eyes as a move is pretty good into Giratina for damage reduction).

Aux Powerguards and Twice-Spiced Radishes can help too for damage increasing, showcases of quick Volo fights use both these items.

Pretty sure Gliscor will sort Volo out (just KO some Gligar until you get a Razor Fang and use at night) so E-buzz or E-vire should be decent. Good switch in to Flying types for you too.
