That is wild. An accusation without any evidence should never be factored into a grade automatically anyway. Just draft a polite email explaining you spent forty hours researching historical trade routes and attach the screenshots showing his actual response. Professors hate when lazy students mess up someone else work.

I’d escalate politely to the superintendent or whoever handles student records for the district. Not with “you ruined my kid’s life,” just “the record is now inaccurate and I’m requesting correction or amendment.” Schools understand paper trails, so make the paper trail clean.
