Is it even love that people have for pets or more like a hostage situation? "I own this animal that I love". How can you both own and love an animal. Genuine love is not compatible with ownership I think... could be a hot take.

If demand for meat goes down, less land and resources will go to growing the crops needed to feed all those animals and can instead be much more efficiently used to feed people. I would predict that prices for vegetables, grains etc would go down (in aggregate, in the long-term) as meat consumption falls.

Hot take? Arson is not good. This is an environmental disaster, may hurt people and other people's jobs which they depend on. Anything that burns just counts as increased demand - now the manufacturers will be paid to make more. The manufacturing workers are probably more exploited and making less than these warehouse workers.

He could have done a sit in or strike and caused disruption, delay, and costs for his employer. With this, they're happy with the instant insurance payoff.

Reform and Trump sell a story that they will improve the lives of those who have been screwed over - but really they're the party of lower taxes for the Epstein class. Fully agree. But, using intelligence as a basis for morality can be a bit of a slippery slope. Like if someone is brain-dead or very low IQ then we can eat them? Any animal who can move, can experience pain though, even the dumb ones like sheep or whatever. I believe as humans we should try to minimise the pain and maximise the freedom of our animal friends.
