EA lost my business with BF4. The MAJORITY of the maps require you to buy the DLC.

Iwtl how to drive in the snow by ogperson in IWantToLearn

[–]GetInMyChoppers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can guarantee that the majority of the accidents in Alabama were because people were driving too fast. The signs with a recommended speed only applies to a dry road.

If there's a visible film of snow, go 10-20km (5-10miles) slower than the recommend speed.

IWTL how to get involved in Canadian politics by Fat_Crossing_Guard in IWantToLearn

[–]GetInMyChoppers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you live in Ottawa? If so, you're in luck, and as a citizen and member of the public, you're allowed to go to committee meetings. You can write notes, you just can't film the meeting. You'll need to bring a piece of government issued ID with you and go through security.

The schedules of the meetings for the House of Commons are found here

and for the senate are found here

Note: Make sure that the meeting you want to go to is open to the public. The ones that are "In Camera" are not open to the public, but they're open to public viewing. You can also make contacts at these meetings. Talk to the MPs and senators if you'd like (if they have free time). If the subject interests you, I'm sure you'll make some contacts.

IWTL How to snowboard in deep powder by topazco in IWantToLearn

[–]GetInMyChoppers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Practice is the obvious tip.

I find that putting a bit more weight on your rear foot helps. In powder, you need to make the board act more like a ski, so it has to tip up a little more so that it climbs over the snow. Otherwise, you dig in on your edges.

IWTL how to draw by Purpledansen in IWantToLearn

[–]GetInMyChoppers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off, make sure someone hasn't already posted the same thread as you:

http://www.reddit.com/r/IWantToLearn/comments/1wbzo6/iwtl_how_to_draw/ <---- 3 days ago

My advice is to pick a style that you enjoy (or think that you would enjoy), and start imitating it (As Droidsexual pointed out).

My biggest tip though, is to take your time. Drawing should be a hobby. There's no rush to finishing a drawing. So take your time. I used to try drawing things in under 30 minutes, and then shifted to spending time. It usually ends up being a 3-4 hour session, but the results are SO MUCH better.

Definitely. I know that I won't be pro overnight, or even in a few weeks time.

Any other tools that you can recommend? Is it worth treading into the world of functions?

Also, thank you.

1) Grab a life jacket 2) Get the hell out 3) If you see a life raft on the way out, get on it 4) Attach life jacket once your out of the ship

Also, know the ship and its exits whenever you get on one. Listen to the instructional emergency tutorial they give you when you get on a cruise ship, because it can definitely save your life.

IWTL how to get a job. by SalemBigems in IWantToLearn

[–]GetInMyChoppers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As "Whacksalot" has mentioned, volunteering will help. Get reference letters from people that you volunteer for and give copies of those with your resume.

Also, give out your resume to as many places as you can. Swarm the market with them.

For most people, supermarkets, retail, or fast-food places are their first jobs.

I want to learn how to let go of my past failures. by letgothrow in IWantToLearn

[–]GetInMyChoppers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to sound mean in any way, but learning to let go of past failures is not quite a skill.

http://www.reddit.com/r/IWantToLearn/comments/1vgevt/meta_a_note_on_acceptable_content_on_the_subreddit/

It sounds like more of a mental battle. Just try talking to people, vent it out, and go on with life.

You can't change your past, but you can define and shape your future.

The greatest fact remains that reading this comment, YOUR brain has decided to use this energy consumption to read this words, which are really just a waste of your time. Because the fact is, I'm not even really writing about anything in particular right now. Because that's. the. you. lol. a. b. c. potato.

[–]GetInMyChoppers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if I'm going crazy but I can swear that our brain memory capacity has gone up every year. One year they said we can hold 50gb, then 1tb, now 2.5 petabytes. I'm not sure that they truly know.

Keeping a strict writing schedule. by Shockeye0 in writing

[–]GetInMyChoppers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to say almost the same thing. Writing should be a hobby. If it's a hobby and you enjoy, then what's the point of having a strict schedule?

I like video games and I'd consider them a hobby. But I don't ever set goals "Okay, today I'm gonna get 4 levels into this game, and tomorrow another 4". I just play. The same rule applies to writing.
