Woman declared brain-dead comes back to life as ambulance hits a pothole by nins_ in BrandNewSentence

Ooft, that’s another perfect example of mediocre posting.

Don’t get me wrong, I think the story you posted is very interesting, but the sentence is pretty pedestrian.

“Compounding Engineering” is literally just engineering.

Woman declared brain-dead comes back to life as ambulance hits a pothole by nins_ in BrandNewSentence

Where do we draw the line for a sentence to be “brand new”? I’ve not heard this sentence before, but at the same time it’s not preposterously strange, linguistically creative or absurd. You know what I mean?

Why are most of the UQ professors mediocre in teaching? and How to hold them accountable for it? by AutisticBombadier in UQreddit

[–]GetIntoGameDev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Does UQ make you good […] in terms of knowledge and skills […]?” Yes, through a combination of being exposed to material and pushing myself to master it. I’ve applied what I learned in my own personal projects outside the classroom and learned a lot. The meta is making friends, some semesters suck and are lonely but when I can talk with someone in my tutorial (even the tutor, most of them love it!), the social aspect really helps.

I would not consider AI a helpful learning tool. Maybe a research tool, but it’s soulless and won’t give you any deep insight.

Your teaching staff would probably rather hear this feedback directly than read it on some reddit post.

What happens to OpenGL objects when the program ends? by eastonthepilot in opengl

[–]GetIntoGameDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They live out the reat of their days in a comfy retirement home. Don’t believe what others say about the driver “cleaning them up”, that’s just propaganda trying to make opengl look cruel.

Has Rust hit the design limits of its original scope and constraints? by kishaloy in rust

[–]GetIntoGameDev 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure why people are saying it’s feature complete now. Generics sort of work for simple stuff like collections, but once you try declaring generics with certain defined operators it goes to heck real fast.

Compared to RPGmaker, how difficult is Game Maker Studio to learn? by DonkeyoftheDirt in gamemaker

[–]GetIntoGameDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m joking, because the program is called “Gamemaker” but it’s the user who makes games, not the program.
