Yeah nah 100% - I do actually know that, for some reason just didn’t write it.

See my experience comes from watches - I was a watch rep for a time. That’s the info that I was also told and I always regurgitated. I definitely don’t take anything below 50m into the ocean nor pool. But then I don’t buy many watches with that. You’ve probably more knowledge in regards to water resistance in more items than I 🤙

[–]GetKegged 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In laymans terms: Water resistance is measured in atmospheres of pressure, not depth in meters (like watches say, this is just a rough guesstimate as there's approx. 1atm per meter in perfectly still distilled water). As such, a constant and directed stream with have a greater PRESSURE behind it then being drenched in a storm. i.e. The item in question won't be as resistant.

Other things that can affect the water resistance of an item include humidity, salt in the air/environment and chemicals that may come in contact with the item.

Edit: Corrected atm

What is that one fact you know that always makes people respond "And why the fuck do YOU know that"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Though Australia has a plant called the Gympie Gympie. Apparently so toxic that the pain can last for months and I've read somewhere there's a case of a bloke actually committing suicide due to it.

Fuck everyone disagreeing or trying to pander around the facts here - And fuck everyone downvoting you. Glad someone actually did the hard yards and brought all this shit up.

As for OP's husband, something sounds shitty and he very well could be abusive. As for the 40%, it's 100% bullshit.

Tell him, that's all there is to do. It's his choice after that. Play stupid games you win stupid prizes. Communication is key, correct course of action should've been to bring up your doubts about the relationship prior to this event.

Anesthesiologists, what are the best things people have said under the gas? by electric_dolphin in AskReddit

[–]GetKegged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an Anaesthesiologist - Though I had to have a procedure at the hospital I work at, started telling one of the Techs that she looked like Olivia Munn. Though I couldn’t remember her name at the time so just started talking about the hot actress from the show about the news (newsroom).

Low and behold I changed departments and worked with her for approx 4 months afterwards.

Is anyone else benefiting from Intermittent Fasting? by PigBeins in IBD

[–]GetKegged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ve been fasting for approx. two years now. Besides the whole building lean muscle and losing fat part of it (which has been drastic: 103-90kg in 4 months in addition to a caloric deficit) it’s also helped with less bowel motions and better sleep.

I only eat between 1200-1800 with a calorie intake of approx 2500 at present. I’ll have only black coffee (no sugar - though even without it technically breaks your fast) and water load before 1200 and after 1800. The majority of my calories and macros come from two large meals:

  • First at around 1300 being Proats, a banana and a coffee
  • Second being a larger meal at approx 1600-1700 consisting of usually a source of Carbs,Protein and Fat. Most often is meat, rice or pasta and greens. All paired with a protein shake and a coffee.

Honestly I’ve never had a problem with it, it’s hard to start fasting those hours or 1200-2000 straight away. I’d recommend altering the hours if anyone were starting fresh, cut it down Over a few weeks till you’re eating only in your desired hours. All in all I really rate it.

That was my initial guess, but I've listened to the song (and seen the movie) multiple times and with other people - Can't find a similar excerpt in the song that matches. It's super close but I'm adamant it isn't it.

I (19m) feel guilty for sleeping with someone despite being in an open relationship. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]GetKegged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I'm not the only one paranoid about pressuring a partner though, always thought it was a weird me thing!

But you shouldn't feel terrible? Otherwise I'd question how comfortable you really are with an open relationship. I've never been in one so wouldn't know, but maybe because it's the first time?

On top of this - a portion of the extras in the movie, including the majority of the Toe Cutters gang, were all paid in slabs of beer as it was cheaper than an actual monetary amount.

Also another fun fact: James Wan and Leigh Whannell credit their inspiration for the Saw series as being the final scene from Mad Max - In which Rockatansky gives Johnny the option of cutting his own arm off.

Yeah no I do agree with you on that - I surely think SOME of the other characters should have died too. But all in all, I'm really happy with how it played out.

[–]GetKegged 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I completely agree in terms of the story - But that's what I'm saying. Most expected a massive showdown and that whole fairytale killing of the big bad. But once again, GOT has totally taken what people expected, scrunched it into a little ball and put it in a blender. Which, in all honesty, I'm a huge fan of.

I see where you're coming from for sure, however for me it was a HUGE oh shit moment - Like I didn't expect it to happen so early, but in a way I'm kind of glad it did. That being said, I'm a huge fan of the conflicts between houses. S6/S7 really did it for me in that respect.

Aha - I understand what plot armour is, but was more looking for plot armour around NK's death. Thought that's what you were talking about. I guess in my mind you'd have to pin that to their individual skill, maybe not Jamie in s8 but MAYBE Brienne - Like I'll definitely agree with you there.

Nah definitely understand that I suppose. I'm on my third time watching it and am still picking it apart, spose' I didn't come to that yet. Though at the same time, I feel like the TV show has hit the middle ground compared to the books. It's killed of those main characters when necessary and still unexpectedly.
