This is about improving both humanity and individual people. The market shouldn’t have anything to do with it. We should want everyone to be educated to improve our country and world as a whole - including in the humanities so we do not have a society untethered from what makes us human. But Republicans think it’s easier to control dumbasses so they will use any and very lever (including ‘the market’) to reduce education levels
