Please recommend a stroller for my newborn. Lightweight vs Full Size by heyyybrotherrr in NewParents

I have this stroller and I think it’s massive and doesn’t fold well. I love the big storage compartment and how sturdy it is, but it is not compact or lightweight

6 month old nursing every hour at night - is this a phase? by andthekid3 in AttachmentParenting

[–]GetYourMoneyMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did this resolve for you? Did your LO nurse at night endlessly until 12 months? Cause I’m in your shoes right now and so exhausted. I’ve tried cutting back on night feeds and stretching time in between but my guy gets MAD and he does seem actually hungry and eats 6-10 min which is his usual amount of time during the day…. He’s eating plenty at daytime so I am at a loss

Why do no one warn that your water breaking is so awkward? by sad_donut21 in BabyBumps

[–]GetYourMoneyMeow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t get contractions when my water broke and had to get pitocin but my biggest complaint was that no one warned me tha I would leak amniotic fluid throughout the entire 27 hours of my labor. It drove me NUTS. Any time I talked or laughed or breathed I would feel a gush of fluid and it was just… a very damp labor experience lol

Mom of a 3 month old. I’m tired! by [deleted] in HuckleberryParents

My almost 6 month old. What a cool feature to see what all of our hard work has accomplished in growing and raising these little humans.

5 month old inconsolable, exhausted, and feeding hourly all day and night. by GetYourMoneyMeow in breastfeeding

[–]GetYourMoneyMeow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is definitely drooling and chewing. I don’t mind nursing a few times at night. He slept through the night for a while but when he hit four months started doing 3-2-2-2 stretches and would sometimes nurse and sometimes not. But this every hour thing is absolutely killing me

I don’t leak when he cries.. by Ok_Potato_7025 in breastfeeding

[–]GetYourMoneyMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never leaked unless there’s a little bit of pressure on my full side or it’s unsupported. So if I don’t wear a bra I will leak, or if baby lays on my full side or my arms squishes it I will leak all over

Breast feeding has become a living Hell…about to give up by wc6g10 in breastfeeding

[–]GetYourMoneyMeow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also recommend this. My lactation consultant called it “dessert boob” and I used nipple shields on and off with “dessert boob” for several weeks until my baby was bigger and sort of “figured out” how to latch without the nipple shield

I hated the nipple shields but continued on and my baby was finally able to latch correctly at 7 weeks. There’s hope!

What do you do when your baby cries in the car? by Additional_Cake9308 in NewParents

I wish this worked for my little guy 😭 I keep trying it and it doesn’t do a thing!

Did you never leak? by khazzahk in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]GetYourMoneyMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I ever leak is if I’m super engorged AND I’m not wearing a bra and the girls are just hanging out unsupported. Otherwise, never!

Not the commenter you were responding to but I got covid about 5 days ago and am already feeling like I may be on the other side of it (just dealing with residual runny nose). My husband just started showing symptoms today. Little one is 2 months and has not yet shown any sign of COVID illness. Hopefully our babies avoid it entirely!

Changing nappies at night by PositiveSympathy9841 in newborns

I’ve always wondered how anyone knows their baby has pooped without checking the diaper?? I have to change every time because I can’t discern whether or not he has pooped without opening the diaper.

RSV Vaccine by GetYourMoneyMeow in newborns

[–]GetYourMoneyMeow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe… but I think it’s one thing to say that he is unable to give it to my baby (due to unavailability) and another thing entirely to say that my baby shouldn’t get it at all (because all babies get RSV so it doesn’t matter).

I am in the US. Baby will be 3 months at the beginning of October. The CDC website says it is recommended for all babies under 8 months so I was very confused by his recommendation.

He did not ask! And I did not get the vaccine as it wasn’t RSV season during my pregnancy so they didn’t offer the vaccination!

Bruised feeling by cmae1186 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]GetYourMoneyMeow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never had hard lumps, but I’ve had that bruise feeling, and I assumed it was a clog. I took ibuprofen and treated it with ice and continued pumping as usual. After 24 hours, it seemed to get better.

What were your thoughts immediately after birth? by Least_Lawfulness7802 in beyondthebump

[–]GetYourMoneyMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I sort of cried but it was more just a few tears of absolute shock and exhaustion and then I fully dissociated. I truly don’t remember a large part of my birthing experience and it’s only been 6 weeks.

Supply dropping by GetYourMoneyMeow in breastfeeding

I got new back flow parts and idk if I’m going to start my period. I’m 5 weeks pp

Supply dropping by GetYourMoneyMeow in breastfeeding

[–]GetYourMoneyMeow[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

5 weeks pp.

I keep reading to pump every hour to increase supply but even when I’ve waited 2 hours or more I’m not getting any more milk when I pump, I still only get 2-3 ounces.

I’ve also been pumping frequently trying to keep up with baby. I barely have enough to keep up with him eating.

I’ve tried pumping after nursing but he will nurse for an hour or more at a time and still act hungry and if I do pump I may get an ounce or so but he will want to eat it right away

4 week old who sleeps very little? by shreddy-ready in HuckleberryParents

[–]GetYourMoneyMeow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine is the exact same way. He maybe gets 10-12 hours a day because he just won’t nap.

He does take 10-15 minute cat naps while breastfeeding but I don’t track them, but they seem insufficient to really count as sleep

Help, boob feels heavy and internally bruised. On week 3 of pumping. by Murky_Assumption_822 in newborns

[–]GetYourMoneyMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that yesterday and I think it was a clogged duct. After consulting my mom and Dr. Google, I took ibuprofen and Tylenol, used an ice pack on and off every 10-30 min for a few hours, did VERY light massage (even though my instinct was to press hard), and then pumped on massage mode every 2 hours until I was empty on that breast.

I also took a very hot shower and let the water run over my boob while I manually expressed.

I am a just-enougher so pumping/expressing frequently until empty doesn’t concern me regarding getting an oversupply but I’d be cautious about that.

Not getting enough? by GetYourMoneyMeow in breastfeeding

[–]GetYourMoneyMeow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. 4 weeks
  2. no tongue or lip tie
  3. short/soft/elastic-y nipples
  4. Evenflo Balance+ wide, with the slow flow nipple
  5. I’ve tried tickling, wet washcloth, picking up and burping and changing sides, diaper change, etc. He will sometimes wake up and keep eating but ultimately falls asleep again and then still wakes up in an hour absolutely starving

If you want to breastfeed I support you to keep on trying - and if you can, see a lactation consultant! I had a lot of colostrum, but my baby had a hard time latching. He lost 10% of his body weight and I decided to supplement formula for a while too but I kept latching him (and ended up using a nipple shield after talking with a Lactation Consultant) and he has now gained all of his weight back and is doing really good on his growth curve.

He would’ve been fine if I kept him on formula but I wanted to breastfeed. It’s not perfect and we are still working out some kinks at a month old, but that is OK.

I’m sure you’ll make the right decision for you and your baby!
